I don't terribly mind looking for someone else who is higher than me in a certain skill if I need to learn it... But there really doesn't seem to be any good reason that Bob or someone like him couldn't teach all the Common trade and normal skills... It'd make life quite a bit simpler for rogues, and since those particular skills are open to everyone, its not like they'd be getting a huge benefit from it...

Could integrate it into the roleplay somehow if they didn't want to add a new NPC with story. Like.. Quettle could probably teach Discipline, Discernment, Environment, and maybe Influence. Maybe the Lucidian head captain in the Mesa could teacher Combat, Resilience, Riding.. and the head Trill magician could do Planar, Magic, and the Low/High Magic set.

Or we could uncomplicate it and make a single teacher for common skills.

I dunno I kind of like the idea of forcing Rogues to interact with actual people to learn their skills.

Like I said, I don't mind it... It just seems like there should be a rogue hermit or two out there able to teach anyone who wants to learn

Nope. This has been requested and denied in the past.

If you're a rogue, things are supposed to be really tough for you. Too bad.

I think it's plain this is not something the admins didn't think of, or haven't gotten around to. It's clearly intentional.

Everything else is set up so that commune/city and guild are intertwined. Now why would normal learning suddenly be any easier? *grin* You can't be a perpetual loner AND grow.

That only works for novices (or newbies, I forget.)
