so is the next part of the elder wars out yet? or are we not supposed to know? ^.^ this obviously interests me a whole bunch.

It was half of Illith that attacked and Kethuru barely beat Her back.
It's like this...
Illith during the wars was a HUGE snake. Able to wrap around the world twice, maybe more! Most powerful. Fought keph. Keph broke her in half and "hid" her. (Illith couldn't find her half, and Meridian couldn't sense Keph, so we can assume Keph blocked them off from the rest, as she did earlier, since only Viravain could find Keph)
Now, facts about Lusternia
Sum > parts - See Vernals vs Avechna, Nature Spirits, Fae, Divine formations, Mortals who can become LOTS of gods.
Therefore 2 half Illiths were likely NOT as strong as 1 whole illith, porbably by a LARGE degree. So half illith was maybe less then Kethuru.
Kethuru eats tons of vernals. Kehturu is now way stronger.
Lastly, it -seems- she called out to her creche to make her giant snake in the water, and she was just controlling them. If I understand creches right, they were made to hold half forms till they were ready for Lusternia. Therefore, small snakes that made the big snake can be thought of like angels, and Illith would have been the Supernal of the creche. She called out to her tiny, likely soulles creche and made them into the serpant. So the serpant was NOT Illith's half, it was something being controlled by Illith's half.
Elostian2007-06-10 16:29:05
Soulless gods do not come from Creches, they did not mature on Cosmic Planes. Like Primals, who are in fact nothing more than Soulless Gods with Souls. Did that make sense? Probably not.
Estarra2007-06-10 17:06:21
Sorry, Elo, but Soulless Gods, like all gods, came from creches. Not sure why you are thinking otherwise.
By and large, Nerra has the right of it.

You once told me that Dynara didn't start using creches until Star Gods -that- is why I am thinking otherwise.
Estarra2007-06-10 17:26:56
I'm fairly positive that I never said that--perhaps you misunderstood something?
Anyway, again, Nerra is by and large correct.

You know, I think that Vortex is a creche where many Primal Gods were created

Quite possible of course!

We need a Soulless snake-creche aetherbubble. It should be very, very, disturbing.

The Illithoid prison doesn't count?
Vaerhon2007-06-13 02:03:19
The illithoid prison is great. But that isn't where Illith was born - just where she got trapped. If the serpent that ate the Taint was made up of her "angels", then there is a creche somewhere teaming with snakes.

Don't think so. If it had Primal/Soulless it wouldn't fit in with Shallamar/Celestia being full of half-formed. Of course I suppose a god could have matured and left Vortex, but you'd think Dynara would finish all Her creation.

That would be very cool! We already have the NPCs made up! Just make'em rolling around in bands of 10 again and make a few different sizes! Poof! This also makes me wonder- were the mounds of eyeballs and the tentacles we found things from Kethuru's creche? Or is he just so big that stuff like that apears around Him?
Edit: Is Klangratch's (Spelling???) shrine the thing that throws dwarves into the rebirth cycle? Does that thing still exit in Lusternia? I'm wondering cause since Estarra is here, maybe the cycle of death and rebirth is broken, since she has Magnara's ability to destroy and Dylara's ability to make? Hence undead dwarves! Sorry, but undead dwarves have been bothering me forever. Shouldn't exist cause of Klangratch's artifact!

you got me all wrong.. I meant that many primal gods where from the Vortex creche before they matured into Gods. Kinda like I believe many of the Celestian Gods are from the Celestia plane... Terentia, Hajamin, Lyreth, Trillilial, Isune.. they all look like angels.. Maybe Lacostian and Elcyrion too

That whole undead dwarf question was just asked in another thread, where I was shown the error of my ways. Essentially, yes the artifact does exist and it is used to revive undead dwarves back to living status when they're taken from Angkrag.

Wait, didn't the Elder Gods call council and went there to destroy said creche and found nothing? Or something like that?
Unknown2007-06-13 20:45:38
That's what Morgfyre said, if memory serves. Presumably all the living templates attacked the Basin of Life and are now all gone.

Woo! I can create things!

Estarra, where the creches reused over and over or was a new one made for every group of Gods?

All gods can have wings if they want to. Besides, Trillillial and Isune are specifically mentioned as sisters, but the others you mentioned weren't. Also, there are probably countless creches out there, and there's no reason to assume that just because they all went to Celest and have wings that they all grew up on Celestia.
Unknown2007-06-15 18:18:05
Strange. I always thought Creches either created full divine or failed in some way and made a bunch of strange creatures (angels/demons/etc...). I don't think any divine could have come from Celestia or Shallamar.
