Excellent. What I found most interesting was how, eh, 'mortal' some of the gods acted before the Elder Wars. They were innocent and normal in a way you generally don't see gods depicted.
Oh, and about the Primal Gods, the Third Circle. Weren't all the gods created by Dyanara before Yudhe's Son came along Soulless? Or did She manage to eke out a few decent ones?

That's what *I* thought when I read it. So these are like, benevolent Soulless? Or like, gooey pancakes? Close, but no cigar?
I wanna see a 3rd Circle God.

I believe the creches thing was a problem with é being put into the characters rapture uses, but I'm not certain.
As for Guido's question, I believe it's more or less answered in the book of Dracnoris.
P.S. Trillillial was a wuss.

Trillillial was really sweet, though. I liked her. Soft and kind-hearted, playful. One of those characters that actually makes my whithered, black crisp of a heart twitch a little out of pity, and sadness for her.

I almost cried at the end of that.
That was very well written. The histories.. all of this really touches my heart. I want more...please.... I am addicted...
I think one of my favourite lines in the other histories was;
To me that was damned powerful.
Wonderful Job.
I swear to God.
It is completely awesome.

I've only read Trillillial's piece, as I've not seen any of the others (not on the website, etc). Anyone got copies of 'em?

Okay, I just read it now. Shh.
So.. Third Circle Gods were basically mistakes. Or, in theory, successes, that is to say, Dynara SUCCEEDED at what She intended, but found it very difficult to replicate this?
It seems really wierd. Obviously they have Souls, Dynara said it, and at least one splintered. But they were rare - so kind of like leaving eggs out in the sun, on the pavement. Sometimes, an external circumstance causes a success, but it's not something you can honestly depend on? Like flipping a coin, or a prevailing wind.
I guess. I really liked this one, actually, more than Trillillial's. While Trill's gave that feeling or warmth and love, it did really well in conveying her Circle's style, but Dracnoris, instead, was very uncaring. Very hands-off, and talked very little about themself, instead about everything around them.
It also gave a very interesting perspective, in my eyes, on Dynara. One would have thought She would be a lot more benevolent, but I guess, when one fails at something, you don't coddle it.
Iuuunno. Incomplete thought, RA's demanding I actually fill out my stupid shizzat papers.

Alright, first I have to say that I LOVE the story so far, its wonderfully done, and I especially liked the part about the creation of life and how in order for creatures to acctually have souls they needed a particular type of energy... Now I know why I got a Divine favour for that post I made a while back... I was acctually damn close to right!
I thought that too, but apparently there were indeed a few moderate successes before Yudhe's son came about.

Yay! Knowledge on the Circles! But one question... where in the is the Glomdoring tome?
Unknown2005-08-26 00:13:15
All the parts of the histories related to Glomdoring really strike something in me, as much as I loathe showing human emotion.
It's those passages above all the others that got me so interested in Glomdoring, and it's why I'm so dissapointed in what it has become. I wanted the Glomdoring to be like it is depicted in the end of the histories; taint obsessed, power hungry, deranged megalomaniacs intent on the destruction of the Basin. I modeled Guido after how Rowena acted after being touched by Kethuru.
QUOTE
This roiling cloud that just drank Gloriana’s essence like a thirsty bat upon a starving doe, this sentient hunger was but a tiny fragment of something larger, greater and more glorious than ever could be imagined. It held Mother Night in its embrace, changing her and Wise Raven too, becoming more powerful than all the other Great Spirits of Nature combined. As Mother Night and I were one, we laughed together as Sister Moon fled before us, as Sister Lake cried out in sorrow, as White Hart fled before the might of Raven whose eyes now glowed as red as embers and who molted his feathers and became Crow. Powerful Crow! Dark Crow! Together, Mother Night and Brother Crow would rule the forests, ushering forth a new age of rot and ruin, darkness and despair. Only those of us chosen few will be allowed obeisance to the glorious master who shall consume us and make us part of him!
QUOTE
Soon all will be under the Presence. And I? I shall be a Queen in this new order. All shall bow and serve me--for am I not as beautiful as I am terrible? Am I not as powerful as I am glorious? Am I not Rowena Darkshade, Mistress of All She Surveys! I will spread a twisted forest that will choke the Basin of Life. It will be called the Glomdoring Forest -- the Forest without Mercy!

I also found the parts about Glomdoring the most emotionally striking of the histories, and they are so beautifully and powerfully written. It's what really showed me why everyone would fear the taint.
The part about Gib being forcefed taint is so sadistically and horrifyingly evil it is my favourite of the histories so far. Rowena's diary entry after being tainted is also wonderfully arranged to build up to a stunning climax, as has already been mentioned.
Veonira2005-08-26 03:01:36
I really liked it. I was sad at the end too. I loved it though.

*Necros* Any more of the histories been released?

Not as of yesterday. I'll post when they do, I look every day.

One of the coming bits is Mugowumpois, and it will be about crocodiles, anyway.
