On a diferent subject, are the moorings between the ethereal forests and the Tree of Trees the start of what eventually became the forest's Great Trees and nexii of power?

Yes. Of course, in pre-Ellindel times, they only existed on the ethereal plane.

Actually, you wouldn't know that at all.
(Gods really shouldn't post their opinions without definitively checking first--players will take it as canon even when it's completely wrong--such as what happened with some players thinking Elfenehoala was responsible for Mother Night. But just goes to show that gods in Lusternia aren't infallible!)

Gods shouldn't need administrative hand-holding either.

Players can take many things as canon.

Not sure what you mean, Myndaen. Are you saying that it's alright for players to think the wrong info is cannon? I mean, I guess I can see that in a way. Because when the right info eventually comes out they'll learn it and the 'cannon' will change. But I don't like it, because once the wrong cannon has been accepted, then the correct info being found out just creates confusion. Like the whole thing with who really Awakened Night and all that.

Don't forget about the whole mess when Shadowfaelings came out.

Or the sticky situation about the Shofangi's history and place in the world.

My point was intended to be that it was ironic that she worries about what's created as canon by the gods and easily dismisses what could be created as canon by players -- when given "free reign" to design their guild's history and being told that no other guild needs "administrative handholding."

Just to clarify: So it really is an old name for Zoaka?

On the same lines: Can we safely assume that-
Sakarich = Skarch
Razamore = Razines
Mount Shallamar = Mount Avechna
That valley with the bees that Tae mentioned = Tolborolla
That valley with the snow that Tae mentioned = Snow Valley.
Daganev2008-03-12 20:31:28
I've been assuming that.

edit: actually I've been asuming that hte tae'dae that the dream child mentioned during hte Mudd quest was snow valley.

That can't be right, can it? That was my first thought, but first: no tae'dae live there, only igasho. Second: Muud came and wrecked it.
Astraea2008-03-13 03:53:13
Plus, when D'varsha mentioned the snow place, he made it seem a lot bigger than just a valley.
QUOTE
"And she is certainly not a child," says D'varsha softly. "Look at that
necklace she wears. Those runes are from a tae'dae tribe of the northern
wastes that have been extinct for 300 years."

When I think about that, I think way larger than snow valley. But that could just be conjecture.

QUOTE(Arvont @ Mar 12 2008, 11:41 AM) 493024
Commune Nexuses were granted to them by the Fae, to help them (originally) heal the forests. They (I think) came from the Tree Of Trees. As such, the Commune Nexuses were 'natural', not like the City Nexuses that were built by mortals.

Ta da!

I've never actually visited snow valley. oh well

But maybe snow valley is all that is left of the community in the northern wastes? tongue.gif

Also, we know hte tribe didn't really become extinct because one of the tae cubs has a blue tongue smile.gif

Really? Just cause some ancestor of that cub happened to have had 'interactions' with one of that tribe and the genetic traint happened to be passed along doesn't mean that a whole tribe survived.

As long as one member survived, its not extinct. For it to be rare, it must be reccessive, which requires two.

Ok, so a couple of folks got busy in the past with the blue tongued tribe. But I just don't know if some random genetic traits = a survived tribe. Maybe on a genetic level or something. dunno.gif
Daganev2008-03-13 17:57:44
hmm, I guess I'm just not thinking straight, and I'm thinking tribe means species of bear instead of tribe meaning culture like its supposed to. Sorry for my ooc thinking there.

That's cool. You do make me wonder though - just how much genetics do you have to have from one 'species' or 'breed' to be considered that? I'll prolly have to google it or something. laugh.gif

I can't wait for the Book of Bollikin to come out! jumpfire.gif

I was struck with sudden inspiration when reading through the Book of Loboshi and I'm now working on a drawing of Orlachmar lying on a table as Loboshi and Tauro hold hands and grieve next to it. I'll probably draw in some vague outlines of other Elders...maybe I'll put Raezon in there with his box containing the elixir.

A quick question for Estarra or any God who might know: What sort of clothes would Loboshi and Tauro be wearing? I have Orlachmar's torso naked, it seemed to me like he wouldn't be fully clothed for this sort of thing.

QUOTE(4.14.15 The Tae)
...being found in arctic regions (the white furred tae'dae,
often with blue tongues)...

It seems that the bluetongue Tae'dae are simply a breed of Tae'dae that originated in colder climates. There isn't really any evidence to say that only those from that tribe have blue tongues, and besides, there's a whole family of blue-tongue'd tae'dae in Tolborolla Valley.

Following in the footsteps of Kalodan and Shorlen, here is an updated list of the elder gods. I thought it would be easy, but the histories just keep throwing out names at you.
