Best chapter yet. Crazen is awesome.
EDIT: Also, we've apparently got six of the Traitor Gods down: Fain, Morgfyre, Raezon, Gheasia, Malmydia and Thax. How many're left, five?

Malmydia is awesome. Maybe on par with Ayridion.

Why do you people like her so much? I was hoping for Krokano to burst out and tear her head off the entire story.

She's got a cool mad scientist vibe going on. Krokano - at least to me - isn't all that deep or interesting. The Traitor Gods are neat as hell, though.

I dunno, a brutal, obnoxious healer would have been pretty cool, making her a traitor removes the mystery. The Al Elric thing is pretty badass though.
Aison2009-01-31 04:21:04
Malmydia is my favorite.
edit: mostly because she looks exactly like Aison should look. Except without creepy soullessy eyes.

She made great bunt cakes, too. Always brought them to our Hamadhi of the Millennia Potluck Brunches.
Man, I miss those.

Hm, why is Lucidian the only race that doesn't have a piece of it's originator god's name in it?
Gwylifar2009-01-31 14:21:41
It's probably true that Thax is one of the twelve, but it's not entirely certain. Unlike the others we know of, Thax didn't volunteer to take on the juice. Who knows what might come of his story? Perhaps he'll resist its corrupting influence, or destroy himself when he sees what it's doing to him, or something. In any case, calling him a "traitor" seems premature at this time as he hasn't chosen or done anything yet.
Shiri2009-01-31 14:24:15
Well, he sure sounds pretty aggro.

QUOTE (Book of dwarfy guy)
Of course, I directed this speech to my fellow Second Circle warriors and, as I scowled at them, wondered if I had failed completely. Most stared at me with eyes widened in shock. Morgfyre's face was white with rage. But then Krokano stood up and began to clap, followed by Tauro, Shikari, and Braun. Then others began standing, and the clapping became louder and louder, with huzzahs and cries of agreement. Oh, a good number did not stand up, Morgfyre, Thax, Ivanko and Gruen among them, but it was enough to turn the tide.
Thus, when the second vote was cast, Meridian's faction won by a fairly wide margin. Of course, there was no celebration this time. We had just voted to not use the one weapon that might give us a chance. Fain's face was flushed with fury, but he quickly took control of his emotions and quelled the uproar amongst his supporters.

Maybe not entirely definitive either, but coupled with Fain saying that he is one of theirs in Krokano's book, I think it's good circumstantial evidence for where Thax's leanings lie.

Why not quote the part where Fain really, really wants to save Thax as well?
The "Is he one o..." "SILENCE! It is enough for you to know I want him alive!" part.

The Elder Wars histories are just incredible food for my imagination. I feel like I'm drinking sweet Soulless essence when I read these. Krokano's book was awesome.
I like Malmydia (very good name too), but I was hoping Krokano would rip her head off. Maybe later.
Dark armors possessed by/filled with evil spirits/essence are a cliché. But that doesn't make them any less badass... Thax is hot.

Good point. Okay, I'll concede this moves to 99% probability.
