Awesomeness. Agnomenon is cool. I love Thax as a living suit of armour. Coincidentally I've recently been researching automatons (not all of them were evil). It appears to me that Thax was one of the twelve already, and that's why they went to such great lengths to save him.

And this is a very well thought out explanation for the one-eyed penetrating vision of the krokani.

And Fininkora? Mentioned only in passing, but she should be included in the list, even if her circle is unknown. I was thinking finks from her, but it sounds like she was killed.

More like eaten by the crazy doctor.

Perhaps she was injured and driven insane by M-whatsername, so she ate most of her, leaving the relatively weak and harmless finks behind.

It's your list, go ahead and make whatever changes you want.

THE PLOT THICKENS!

The whole Krokano-gets-eaten-by-Crazen scene was ...disturbing. Someone's been watching too many horror flicks. Either way, Evil Elric Steampunk Holyshitesoulless Thax was awesome. And Kialkarkea's fink theory sounds likely to me. Unless Malmydia is slain for great justice, and she sort of disgorges what's left of Fininkora's essence, which splinters.

Also, I loved the descriptions of Krokano's new super-sight.
Rika2009-01-31 21:45:58
Fininkora can't have splintered yet, because Bollikin was the first to splinter. Unless I either missed it or he splintered behind the scenes...

I already put her onto the list on the Scrying Pool within an hour of the new chapter coming out, as well as all the other updates we got from this chapter.

OMG. These are truly awesome, and getting better with each one!

How are they discovered? Is there some mini-quest for each book when the time is right?
Daganev2009-02-01 04:41:39
What is that dwarf book you were quoting? care to post that?

Oh, I thought there were actual extra books around in the game. sad.gif

What about Thalrinda? I didn't see her on the list?

I don't think the healer comments on exactly what happened to her, so it could be that she's just barely clinging onto life in a completely mangled state, though probably not as bad as Thax.

She's on the Scrying Pool's Gods list in the top section since we don't know what circle she is. Fininkora too.

Good point. Okay, I'll concede this moves to 99% probability.

There's also the scene behind the dampener where Fain actually explains why he wants Thax saved. It was something to the effect of "If he can die, that means any of us can die." They already knew that elder gods could die, so I can only assume that he meant those that had taken the elixer.

Why is Morgfyre in No Circle? Isn't he clearly in the Second Circle?

The Histories are awesome. So awesome. wub.gif

Just in time, I ducked as a mottled globule of flesh hurtled past me. I
turned towards the voice that warned me and saw Thalrinda of the Fourth
Circle
sprawled on the ground. Was Thalrinda here to offer help in some
manner? I knew we were working with other circles to develop weapons
against the Soulless. And I had heard her name recently.

EDIT: Yea, I was wondering why she was placed in the unknown Circle section.

I was told that he is no longer identified as being in any circle, so it only says that he used to be Second Circle.

As for Finikora, I guess I added her too early and then never went back when the circle was revealed! I've fixed that. (Though you could do it too, this is for anyone to edit. That's the whole strength of a wiki, after all, and why a wiki is the best way to go for things like this. It's not mine, it's all of ours.)

Who says she's dead?

Somewhat delayed, but having finally read it in its entirety... breathtaking! wub.gif

I am really interested to see what other Soulless are yet to be revealed. This Elixir seemingly transfers quite a few properties of the Soulless onto the Elders, so I wonder if there are any Soulless that have become more Elder-like? I sort of think that if the subcreative power of the Elders is in using parts of their spirit to shape or change external entities, surely the corruption of Kethuru is an example of a Soulless that is no longer about pure destruction/absorption and instead takes on some of that subcreative power as well? Or, if it is a one-way conversion from immanidivinus energy to excoroperditio like entropy, and corruption is more like gradual immanidivinus-replacement therapy, what happens to the souls that are lost along the way if we assume that without Magnora there is no true destruction?

Such thought-provoking, moving and artful writing!
