Blooredi creacted crocodiles(aligators?), and is considered a bit of a failure because they never became a greater spirit.

I know, but I bet he did Snakes afterwards

I mean, Cocodriles are cousins of snakes, right? unsure.gif

Most likely Bollikin got the idea from Blooredi and made Snake because Blooredi's stupid. smile.gif

It must've been released recently.

Basically here's what happened.

I created a blizzard in Magnagora, since I like to flash-freeze sometimes before cleanin'.

Ardrak noticed and started talking about Snow Valley and something about it.

I get Nok's translated tome, Ardrak says it's not the real one.

I think the real one is in the World Library--it was but it was checked out.

I go to Serenwilde since Ialie gave me a Library card a long time ago. Find the book. Try to translate it using Translation, no go.

Daevos asks me to "hand translate it", so after worrying about the ethical consequences, I do. It was kind of funny, I gave him the tome, but I didn't realize it was written in Divine script.

I create copies for a few people in the city. Then I return the Serenwilde and Magnagoran copies to their respective libraries.

I go exploring thinking I can find some Xyl-tech, but I end up dying to a damn sabretooth.

All in all, many thanks to Ardrak for giving us the head's up.

Also wouldn't assume that Centaubi splintered into Centaurs

True, but evidence seems to suggest it to me, since the Gods couldn't make any sentient creatures apart from the Assemblies. It then follows that either the Centaur are splinters or half-formed, and since no half-formed resided on the First World, I think evidence suggests that they are splinters. Also, the names of splinters are taken from the Divine they splintered from, so far other beings are not named that way.

First question would be -> Why aren't they a playable race?

Second question would be -> How do you explain the Nagaradja, which are sentient snake-like creatures?

First answer: Dunno, maybe the four legs thing would make them act oddly with the combat system?

Second answer: I've been mostly away from Lusternia for a while, never heard of the Nagaradja...

the Nagaradja have always been around, as far as I know. They're the mob that a certain poison is gotten from. They live in a secret cave in the southern moutians near Southgard. They've got 4 arms, and rather than legs they have bodies like snakes. But they also speak, so they're sentient.

Oh, I've actually never explored glomdoring sad.gif I didn't know there were prime creatures that spoke and weren't PC races besides centaur and gnomes. Hmm, I guess finks do too.

Eh.
Unknown2006-06-10 04:16:56
They're actually not in Glomdoring, or Tainted land (which surprised me too). Their cave is in an untainted portion of the mountains just east of Southgard.
Unknown2006-06-10 04:21:20
I didn't find out about the Nagaradja until last week, despite being here since open beta. And it is quite possible that there are sentient mortal races that haven't been discovered yet, or were wiped out (or partially wiped out) during the Vernal Wars. Also, it could be possible that some other lifeforms exist that have yet to be explained, odd mutations or quirks among the creations of the Elder Gods.
Estarra2006-06-10 04:30:13
I'm glad everyone likes the histories! They are more time-consuming to write than one might imagine (though a poor excuse for how long its been).

Just for your own edification, centaurs were supposed to be a race choice (as is probably obvious with how prevalent they are in Serenwilde) but Roark talked me out of it because (as someone mentioned) the logistics of accounting for 6 limbs in the code.

Haven't come up with a game history I find more interesting than Lusternia's, definitely.
