I think Suhnaye's been around since early November, and I don't have any intentions of going anywhere... Provided I don't end up getting married or somethin IRL, I'll prolly be around for twice that long...
Kharvik2005-08-17 18:38:46
Alas, I am stuck. I know I'll still be here in 6 months.
Bau2005-08-17 20:32:12
Married? You'd marry someone who would make you give up muds?!
Malicia2005-08-18 00:10:38
I'll be around and gradually, in moderation. Just have to find that balance between being here and catering to my rl responsibilities and those lovely neglected friends of mine. All they do is drink anyhow! I did somehow manage to get a friend of mine to try Lusternia out. Kairo is his name. Be nice to him!

Psh, those aren't all of mine. If I'd bought all my credits on one character - and hadn't been a guild-hopping scumtard - I'dve been omnitrans, easy.

I'm not going to make any obligatatory announcements, but as you can see, I'm all over HELP SERENGUARD right now and don't intend to leave anytime soon. I do intend to still work the equivilant of 60 hour weeks like I have been doing all summer, but won't be taking the huge leaves of absence to go on assignment anymore

*Laughs* I wouldn't marry someone who would make me give up Muds, but I would probably give them up so I'd be able to concentrate more on my family, work, and education... Work and education I oughta be concentrating on now, but I have a horrible habit of never putting much effort into advancing myself in the world unless its for someone elses sake...

Though there are many subgroups, and a few anomalies, there are four main types of player longevity:-
1) Never gets into it. - this type stays maybe for five minutes, maybe for three days, they never REALLY get into the game.
2) Medium term - these stay for a few months, until the novelty wears off (a few months sounds like a long time for novelty, but really that's how long it takes when there's so much stuff) and they become bored doing similar things a lot of the time.
3) Patchy term - these stay anywhere from a few months to a few years, but it's broken up by spells of dormancy, frequent inactivity, alt-making, maybe even joining different games.
4) Lifers - stay for years, sometimes there are gaps of dormancy, but when not dormant they're on at least 20+ hours a week for months at a time. These sometimes switch between games, but always spend at least a number of months on each game.

You forgot the fifth group.
5) Hopeless - Dedicate every waking moment to a simple online game, characteristically made of text, ruling with an iron fist, and not being payed a dime. Often times long hours are demanded, and without sleep. Coding or building long into the early hours (sometimes the not-so-early hours!), with little breaks but for bathroom and a Bawls refill. Suffers from various mental illnesses, and seems to have been perm-afflicted with Whispering Madness, possibly via a rare occultist skill. As well, they are permanently afflicted with Insanity, Delusions, Confusion, and Stupidity. All resulting from administrative work.

Well I dunno, in 24 game years, I've played 99 days, 13 hours and 21 minutes.
Shiri2005-08-18 15:14:48
Are we counting alts? About 140 days if so. Shiri has a few extra days racked up, see.

It's too soon to tell for me. I beta tested during closed beta and liked it, but haven't been able to get into a character yet since it opened. Most of that was due to a schedule that didn't allow it, but now that is no longer the case and I'm giving it another try.
If I find my groove, then I'd be here more than 6 months for sure.

I dun have any alts.

I played Achaea for about three years before I got fed up with some of the stuff I saw too regularly, and Lusternia was released right about that time. I've been playing here since day one, and I really, really like what I see. I'll be around for at least as long as I've been playing Achaea. I could never really quit a game where I've gotten as far as I have (in both Achaea and Lusternia), even if I don't spend money on the games.
Unknown2005-08-29 03:16:52
I'll be around for a while, don't know about everyone else though. Then again what's on one's mind now, might not be there later if ya know what I mean.
Kayde2005-08-29 03:39:08
I'll prolly be around unless my work or school schedual prevents it, or Marcalo keeps me away. I love lusternia, what can I say.
Jenna2005-08-29 04:34:26
I'm gonna be either a patchy or a lifer - hopefully a lifer, since it'll probably take a while to finish all my long-term plans for my characters.
