Does anyone know what omnibuses, codexes, tomes etc etc actually look like in a room?
What can be put in them, if anything, and what can books be put into?
Even several trademasters dont have a clue, so if someone could fill the gaps in that would be great.

They look like any other item. As far as I know, the only difference between books is the number of pages, and if they're org or personal.

A grand omnibus rests here, light glinting softly from its jewelled covers.
A large arcanum rests here heavily, awaiting an eager reader.
Those are the two public omnibus designs.
Things like that. It's in the dropped desc. The trademaster should have a clue. It's different for every item.

Libraries haven't been implemented yet, they're working on them.

how can a tome rest heavily? It must've had a very exhausting day.

I'm wondering what happens with a compendium when you leave it in a room. Can any old Moondancer come and take it away? Will it reset to where it is left? I assume that is how it will work with libraries, but beforehand...I think I'll keep this compendium on me until then.

Flame it
I need to get some flame sigils that are nearly decayed, with maybe 10-20 months on them... So I can have books stick around until libraries are implemented.

Noo I don't want flame sigils on it. I'll just cuddle it until then.
The freaking formatting is a nightmare :S. When did 'TAB' becomes such a hard typing feature to understand?!

Formatting's simple - don't let the editor wordwrap for you. Type it all out in a notepad session that's sized for the width of the editor (70 characters, I think?), and hit enter at the end of each line. A bit annoying for editing, but worth it for the simplicity of adding it into Lusternia.

I have it figured now I guess, but I still don't get why I can't use the tab key...:S. Oh well.
EDIT: Actually, Shorlen, how do I set the character spacing? I thought I had it, but I assume the different sizes of characters screwed me up, seeing as I said it by width rather than specific character number.
Sylphas2005-08-18 16:43:46
Use a fixed-width font, like Courier New.
Unknown2005-08-18 17:03:39
I was looking for one, thanks!
Unknown2005-08-18 17:26:45
Fixedsys!
Gwylifar2005-08-18 19:19:52
Andale Mono.
Unknown2005-08-19 02:33:47
Neither of which I have in word or wordpad, for some reason :S. I could download them, but, nyeh.
Stangmar2005-08-19 02:49:21
I log onto the java client to write stuff
Unknown2005-08-19 02:51:14
I do too, but it doesn't help the problem of trying to cut+paste :S.
Ixion2005-08-19 10:30:15
less hijacks, more bookbinding info
Nymerya2005-08-21 17:54:08
Another question. Does anyone know if the journals you bind for others reset to them? I've not been able to test it yet, and was hoping someone else had.
Unknown2005-08-21 23:46:43
I've no idea, but I do know that scrolls bound for a specific person don't reset to them. I think it is just a way to control who can edit certain books.
