I'll say again, don't like the game? don't play it
whats that? you love the game? then suck it up, buy some credits and support the game, and learn to fight
edit: I'll also say again, why should anyone, anywhere at any time be able to invoke an ability that stops the use of a 2000cr item? (apart from curable afflictions)
Really, you people disgust me. If they have spent the money for 2k credits, then you should just suck it up and be happy they are supporting the game that is FREE FOR YOU TO PLAY.
the problem is the lack of celestian player fighter/defenders who are willing to learn to fight and buy the credits, NOT the people who have payed up and done the hard yards

This is a thread of _ideas_ not personal insults, or harresment, I appriciate your warm welcome but your not encouraging me one bit to even consider buying credits. State your argument not your ass.
You think I know nothing, to new to the game to even suggest improvements, and you complain I can't cause I dont own that 2k credits artifact?.. I dont think so, You can see other people agreeing with me, and i'm not taking up a flamewar with you here.

Wow, by all the talk it sounds like you city folks almost never fight unless you can find those particular people. It's almost the opposite of Faethorn.
Now I have to ask, how much raiding SHOULD be happening up there? You guys are talking about how a raid should not happen (i.e no cubix) but realy, how SHOULD Celestia be successfuly raided (as opposed to the kinds of raids that are stopped by guards+Celest players)? Is it sensible that the only ways to raid is to either find a person Celest doesn't know about to sneak in or use a 2k artifact?

ok i'll try again with a little less venom in those words of mine.
Let it be known I dont have a cubix, nor will i ever buy one.
I seriosuly don't see the problem with cubixes, they are a lot easier to stop than in any other IRE game. I will however conceed perhaps that the entrances to the planes should be at the megalith and pool of stars respectively on nil and celestia.
However, the plane gets raided, celest should be able to stop it getting raided. Keep an active demesne up there so you can summon, the main problem is celest not being able to defend their planes, not magnagorian use of cubixes to help raid them.
If celest had more than 3 fighters worth a damn (meaning they can not die to the majority of magnagorians one on one in less than 30 seconds) then you could talk.
Celest's ONLY fighters I can see, who have even the smallest skeric of talent are geb, ceres (shudder), and...ummm.....another mage I think, i dont even have their name up.

Pif. I'm not trying to support the removal of Cubix raiding. I'm saying that there should be ways to to be able to get in, do what you want to do, and get out successfully: in short, making raiding EASIER. Of course, that's assuming there isn't already effective ways to raid and that Cubixes are just easier to do.
I was saddended to hear that raiding villages was dead when the extra defenses were put in. It's a mark of wanting to fix a problem without really seeing what the solution should be. We almost did the same with village influencing until that poll came in showing that people just wanted some peace and some war, not a whole uprooting of the code.
So I again ask those who want Cubixes to be altered: how SHOULD a group of people successfuly raid?
Edit: Changing 'culvix' to 'cubix'. Also adding 'cubix' beside 'demesne' for words I utterly HATE.
Ialie2005-08-20 07:04:16
what are culvixes?
Gwylifar2005-08-20 12:55:55
Something they install under driveways to whisk the water flow away to an alternate dimension so it doesn't erode the driveway.

ok i was thinking and i have an idea for the Demon Lords and Lady along with the supernal's and stuff. How about we make it so each one has like a right hand man/woman like a messenger and first follower of sorts. And have it so when some things happens like on Nil the Demons send their messengers to talk about it and discuss what the other demons feel to give it kind of like a political twist. Because right now they sit and do nothing how about have them interact and actually make decisions and such?
I think it would be good for RP and to get players more involved other than your normal pact then never go see them again. This is just a thought it may be stupid or it may be great i don't know so tell me what you think!

Long ago in this thread I conceded to not remove the cubix, and I have been trying to push alternative ideas, and some have been suggested.. I am not saying make it as villages, with 50 guards everywhere, I am saying to make a challenging change, with more player conflict.
Example:1, removing the who list would make the plane about paranoia, you have to squint or take time to window/scry someone, where/who defenders would come, and most likely it would resolve in close combat, instead of hit and runs... (thirdeye wont be useless it spots invisible, and if gem of cloacking only removes you from who list, make it so they can't be scryd/windowed, but they can be spotted from eyesight, (with thirdeye))
Example:2 Redesign the plane, make it for example 3 levels, Tower, inner courtyard, outer courtyard with two, three sideways, cubix could take you to inner courtyard, there could be maze + some guards, but since there are so many entrences you couldnt be able to put guards everywhere... It could be a feat to get into the tower. Where you can coordinate with tactic, reguarding where opponent is heading, Where they have their defence, perhaps even make sidequests to 'enable'/'disable' some defence, like a bridge/tunnel (dont take it literly, but it fits the courtyard idea, but since its like 'heaven/hell' I know it wont be those words)
Example:3 (Nasrims) The cubix was purchased by the owner for personal use. Thus, only the owner should be able to use the cubix; furthermore, the cubix should not allow the transportation of mass groups. It should only poof the person who owns it.
Example:4(Blastron) I kinda skimmed the previous few threads, but here's my idea: a cubix should not be able to take you to an area you are enemied to. Yes, there are ways to get around this, namely having someone else lead you there, or have someone else cubix in and act as a tesseract target, or whatever, but it would stop the problem of people spontaneously jumping in and out of places they're trying to raid.
Example:5 (Eyod) Now how are any of those late ideas, sug I suppose a possible change would to make the cubix only workable at a nexus or a rift and it would still takee.) you to limbo and you still exit from the same places as before.gesting to remove the cubix and stop their raids?
Example:6(Nasrim) Make the supernaturals indoor
Example:7(Avaer) Aether Lodestone (250 credits)
This remarkable rock will anchor the aether pathways in your location when wielded. Anyone attempting an extra-planar escape will be unable to overcome the attraction of the lodestone. Nexus and Rift aetherpathways are naturally resilient to this effect. Thus, anyone using touch cubix/tesseract/astrology astral jump/furniture gohome/etc will fail to do so until they leave the room the possessor resides in. This wouldn't affect the TRANSVERSE command (or maybe it would delay it? Though that would make it cost more.)
Example:8(Vix) I suggest moving the cubix entrances to the Pool/Megalith.
Hope I didnt skip anyone.. I think that be all in the thread..
I am not trying to _remove_ conflict, I am trying to add it, just like you saying it needs to be an alternative path... And I know there's always the waterplane you could go and raid, but still same problem there.
Basicly Now with all the counter opinions that came up, only one of them held 'demesne summon' and like I said before, i'm not a one trick pony.
NOTE: updated first post with this, so you people dont have to cruise the whole thread
EDIT: your added now vix, kind of forgot about you

And I tell you again, this is not a question on who can kill who.
If you actully get the confrontation, it is, but with all these hits and runs...
the cubix wielder is the one pulling all the strings, he can choose if he wants to try the defenders on, or just escape... in any conditions, cause he spots them on who list.
Sure, a gem of cloaking might solve that, but I dont like the idea of buying a artifact to counter a artifact..
and yes demesne summon was mentioned, but its only one class that have it... And I would like to see more then that.
Vix2005-08-20 23:36:15
I suggested moving the cubix entrances to the Pool/Megalith on page 4 and now people notice.

I actually like this idea, however let me make a suggestion
Example:7(Avaer) Aether Lodestone (800 credits)
This remarkable rock will anchor ALL aether, magical and cosmic pathways in your location. (when wielded removed as it would screw warriors more than other classes). No-one will be able to leave your location via any magical, cosmic or aether means (champion rescue excluded). (Nexus and rift exclded, to make the artifact worth its salt). Thus, anyone attempting to leave your room via any means other than physical, will be unable to do so NB: This would also prevent anyone in your location being wisped (including yourself), or demesne summoned, youd be basically a super walking monolith
This would make the artifact able to be used for more than planar defending, and more viable for pk ETC. I would buy one of these for sure. Perhaps the price should be 1600 CR, or maybe remove the (including yourself) bit.

The main problem is that they're griefing now.
Heard on Celestia after marcalo/yrael cubix out:
"Its
Sorry, you can talk all you want about how Celest isn't organised to repel Cubix users, but:
* Noone from Celest has said its doable to defend;
* everyone who has said its doable to defend has actually been from Magnagora;
* its been noted that Nil is less Cubix-raid-friendly than Celest;
* no Mag has offered to come to Celest to defend against raiders somehow to see what its like.
And now, cleverly, somehow our group was coaxed to follow to Nil and was slain. thank god for conglutination, but f... this s.... Whats the point, really.
I'll say it again, if the realm isn't fun, noone is going to stay.
Estarra: for Celestians, this realm isn't fun.
Goodbye again.
Acrune2005-08-21 04:56:27
Yeah, there no way people should be able to go from the tide lord to celestia... to the tide lords... to celestia again and again and again. While the Nil thing was really, really fun for me, its just depressing to have to guard two places at once, and more if we ever (God forbid) actually get another village, which isn't looking too likely. Sometimes we get lucky and a few decent fighters are on, but usually people just wait until they are gone before raiding. You say that I can demesne summon, but whats the point if the cubix user just goes away with the cubix or ghosting before you can do anything else? I can't count the times when I actually catch up to someone on Celestia, web them, and before I get eq back, they're gone. Its just depressing, and makes even guarding anything pointless. I don't give a crap if it does cost $600, there is no way someone should be able to make a whole organization not want to come back in the game just by using it. Perhaps it does make money for IRE, but if the newer players are sick and tired of getting flattened time and time again, it doesn't seem to be likely that they'll be sticking around and buying credits much either, does it?
