You know I only just realised what you said Sobran. Let me quote for you:
Now following what you just said to me. You have just told us yourself that pointing a novice to a guild help file is not classed as teaching them so your guild disfavour is completely unjustified.

His guildfavour was justified - you aren't supposed to point them to ghelp files, but walk through them with them.
Unknown2005-08-20 17:52:24
Help files are there for a reason.
If a novice has a question that is answered in a file, point them to it. A file will likely answer their question far better than an individual can. If it is not answered in one or they have further questions, then you can address them personally.
As for brand-new novices, the generally accepted method is to point them towards all of the ghelp files required for newbies, and once they have read those to teach them their lessons and explain a few things to them, answering any questions that the initial files didn't cover.

Nope, novice in question: Xavius. He's definitely no novice and thats still not following what Sobran constitutes as teaching a novice which is what he disfavoured me for.
By what he said, I didn't teach a novice. If he disfavoured me for leaving a novice stranded then that would be fine but he disfavoured me for teaching a novice that funnily enough doesn't fall under what he deems as teaching.

Also, Sobran's argument is instantly voided because he has the grammar of an 8-year old.

Please don't try to twist my words, Marsu. I said that pointing them to the file is not the only thing that should be done. That you have to also teach them, as well, their guild skills, what they do, how to use them, what they prevent from happening, what happens when using them, what herbs they might want to use. What our guild philosophies are, what our ethics are, what they should and should not do as novices. And more. You were never reported doing those. And what's more, when I confronted you about the novice, you said you never heard of them. And then you changed your story and said you just pointed them to a scroll.
You said you pointed them to the scroll and that was it. Teaching the novice, however, goes with a whole lot more than that.
So which is it.

From someone called Guido, I think that lacks a bit of an argument.

I don't know about you, but when I enter a game for the first time I don't want to sit there for 3 hours while some guy drones on about rules, regulations, and crackpot philosophies that likely mean absolutely nothing to me yet. I'd likely get bored and quit.

Its apparent that Xavius is an Alt of someone who's been in the game before. But he's also a novice. Cover the literature given to you as a Novice teacher of the guild, and you're good as gold. You didn't do that.

Blacktalon's rules are strict. We're make sure our novices know the material, know how to survive, and know what they need to do in order to keep their heads up. If people don't like that, then there's always White Hart.

Then make sure they read ghelp rules or whatever. There's RP, and then there's driving newbies from the game.

How about Marsu and Sobran argue this in game and if your name isnt SObran or Marsu then not talk about it

I didn't twist your words I took them as they were written. If you meant something else then please go back and change it to reflect what you truly mean.
When I signed in to a disfavour from you I sent you a wtf tell to which you told me some yadda about teaching a novice. I said that I hadn't taught any novices because from what I and you (from what you have previously written) did not deem pointing a novice to a help file as teaching so I would obviously say that I have taught none because I knew that I hadn't.

Jad, you're just as bad as me. You're never wrong. You'd never admit when you're wrong or mistaken. It's uncanny! Although, I'm right, even when I'm wrong, mmhmm.Â
You -always- preached what the SW's RP was supposed to be, but that's fine. You're entitled to an opinion.

Heh, whatever, Mali.
I admit I can be stubborn, and I have made a cutting remark once to you about your being the wife of someone who attacks the innocent loved ones of someone he's trying to hurt, precisely to get at that person, but I apologized for that already, publicly, on that same thread, because I realised I was wrong to attack you that way for something Amaru did.
Do me a favor, leave me alone. If you want to address an issue, please don't refer to me personally, unless it's just to draw attention to an issue I mentioned. This seems more like a jab at me, rather than the issue. I used to see you as a friend, and yes, we had a lot of debates, some of which were more intense than needed to be, because we can both be stubborn, and quite set in our opinions, but I'm not interested in targetting you, neither do I want to be targetted, because everyone says things that hurt sometimes in the heat of an argument, but I wouldn't hold it against them, because heh, nobody's perfect.
Maybe you didn't mean to jab me with this, and I'm just paranoid and seeing malice where there's just misunderstandings, but it seems that way to me. Do just leave me be.
I've already explained why I was sad about Serenwilde's roleplay, but I don't think I've said that Serenwilde is just plain "wrong" and my view is "right", so Serenwilde should just do what is "right". If I have, feel free to quote it here. Worst case scenario, I apologize for contradictory statements, and imposing my opinions on Serenwilde.

I love how my little thread to point out three vacant positions has blossomed!

Must every thread even remotely concerned with Glomdoring degenerate into largely irrelevant bitching?
