The rumours I hear about Shikari wanting to erect a shrine to Fain in Glomdoring are clear fabrications then.

Isn't this exactly what Magnagoran's have done since day one, on the forums, to Serenwilde?
I don't think Glomdoring should be flamed for its RP either, but I find it absolutely hilarious when someone who has flamed Serenwilde's rp wags her finger at others who do it.

Nah.
I admit, I don't like how Serenwilde's become, but I also don't like how you've disregarded all the times I maintained that I realise my opinions aren't worth rabbit poo as far as Serenwilde's concerned. I've also never attacked as vehemently and accusatorily as Jairdan has, and I've always said that I may be wrong. In one of the other threads, I think it was the Serenwilde is ruined one, I said that if that's the way Serenwilde wants to be, and they're happy with it, then it's fine, because it's what they want, and they're happy. I'm just sad that they said that in order to survive they had to become violent, that's all, because it doesn't fit with how I pictured Serenwilde to be. Never said it was wrong RP.
What Jairdan said though, was plainly that his idea of Glomdoring RP is right, and the current Glomdoring RP is wrong, WRONG, WRONG!!
I did spend some time in Serenwilde before Jadryga was created, as a furrikin. This was right after open beta began. I wasn't privy to upper level info maybe, but I'm not sure Serenwilde even had that much of a foundation for secrecy and top level info, since everyone back then just threw their opinions about things into CT anyway. I rather liked Serenwilde, despite its disorganization back then, but it was a lot of pressure on my relationship with Alger, since he would steal farmers, and my conscience would tug at me, so I'd steal them back when he's not looking. Hence I created Jadryga and abandoned my old character. I was actually pacifist before, I knew absolutely nothing about combat until Jadryga. So no, I don't have any say in how Serenwilde is now, but I was sad because I rather liked what I saw of Serenwilde in the early stages, despite the chaos. Maybe it still is that way internally, I don't know.
Well, I did have trouble accepting some of the Divine decrees back then... like when Auseklis declared that herbs were none of our concern, when a lot of the commune was lobbying to put herbs under official protection since overharvesting was rampant. Just made me go...
Bau2005-08-20 09:22:32
The problemis, there are no sort of restrictions in real life, and the restrictions on herbs in IRE just drive people nuts and everyone overharvests sooner or later anyway or leave it so low nobody else can get any -anyway-. I remember trying to get valerian on Aetolia, and quince on Imperian. :\\ I liked Auseklis saying that, because it really is no business of the commune as a whole.
Jadryga2005-08-20 09:32:19
There's also millions more acres of land in real life, and people do fence their vegetables and farms and orchards and herb gardens and fields and plantations in to prevent other people from stealing what THEY grow, heh. There's no such thing here.
Bau2005-08-20 09:34:35
Originally, it was just what grew by itself.

Didn't quite get that... elaborate?
Bau2005-08-20 09:35:49
As far as herbs go, anyway. Fruit and veg did too once, but herbs weren't always something that were grown at home. And those who DID grow their own grew them on their own lands, none of which people actually own in Lusternia.
Bau2005-08-20 09:36:12
Yeah, yeah. *grin* I was getting there.
Unknown2005-08-20 09:43:38
You know what would help the Blacktalon guild attract new members?
A new Druid skill!

Not quite true.
Serenwilde itself is a plot of land owned and cultivated by Serenwilde, and valid, since herbs can be grown in Serenwilde itself. Magnagora is protective over the Blasted lands, and Spectre Isle, despite it not being Magnagora itself. Celest COULD lay claim to Oleanvir and the Isle of Light. Glomdoring back then may have been dodgy, since it wasn't quite under anyone's jurisdiction. Same goes for the mountains, which go around everything anyway. The lines are a lot fuzzier than they are in real life, but there is "owned" land, to a certain extent.
Bau2005-08-20 09:46:40
That's debatable. Many would say that Serenwilde merely protects the land, not owns it - and I believe Auseklis is one of those.
Jadryga2005-08-20 09:48:07
Still comes under Seren jurisdiction.
Bau2005-08-20 09:51:49
Yes, but that's not the point. Auseklis says they're no business of the commune as a whole because NOT the whole commune uses herbs, and in His eyes, the commune does NOT own the land, merely protect it. The herbs, in His opinion, do not require protection.

Let's simplify the lasts few posts!
..also I was buggering around in paint and decided to boot up a copy of the Lusternia map and put in the seeming "Permenant areas of influence". Heh.

Jad doesn't like it when gods hand down things which don't make sense to her, but I was explaining things from Auseklis' point of view on that subject.
Yrael2005-08-20 10:09:43
What does that have to do with anything? That was a shallow excuse to bump my postcount.

Aww, how cute - Celest is hugging Serenwilde
Shiri2005-08-20 10:23:02
I think Magnagora is about to stamp on Glomdoring's face there.
Bau2005-08-20 10:28:55
Glomdoring doesn't need anything but the forest. The villages are just an excuse to get in everyone's collective faces.
Thorgal2005-08-20 10:38:42
Nyla actually did do a lot for the Blacktalon, just like he held a lot of commune events for the novices and lowbies as well.
And Narsrim, where on earth do you get the idea that Glomdoring would be capable of trampling over anything at all? First you write down post after post about how weak Glomdoring is, then you say we just like to trample over anything like the evil griefers we are, WTF is your problem?
Also, I wouldn't even mind Viravain suddenly popping up again after just abandoning the commune, if she wouldn't force people to step down from positions they earned and even leave Glomdoring entirely, we really can't afford losing even more capable people just for some weird ideas without any sense.
Lisaera roleplays too, Hajamin roleplays too, Shikari roleplays too, but they don't insist on ripping apart their city or commune with it, they're all just helping the ones they patron. And really, there's no point for Serens crying out their support for Viravain here, the bias just drips off of that.
Then again, this is just at first sight, maybe Viravain's new ideas prove to lift up the commune again if we work with her.
