All Acheaens are masochists.

Kidaen, apparently because of all this, they recently copied the auto-graduation system you guys implemented.
And now they've replaced guilds with houses, seperating the class from the guild. Which I think was a long time coming.
Personally, the archetype you choose should not be limited by other players. I think what happened is corruption from the "old timers" ended up creating an entrenched powerbase that became abusive.
Hopefully Lusternia has checks and balances for this game to prevent that type of corruption.

I was outguilded from the druids for saying I'd try to help a rabbit get away from a wolf if I saw one being chased through my grove.
Good times.
Good times.

I almost did, until I said I'd help a wolf get away from a poacher...

I almost got ousted from the Dawnies for telling them i planned to join the Naga, well i left before they ousted me. Most amusing part was the person who was threatening to oust me, once i quit, set about trying to get me to rejoin.

Well, uh, yeah, that was a pretty critical flaw, unlike all the others people have been posting here.

Naw, i was going to get kicked out sooner or later, Shallam at that time bored me, besides i wanted to see if it was true, and grass is greener on the other side, well except for the fact Mhaldor is like all red and foggy and no plants grow there.
Asarnil2005-08-26 13:40:08
I got ousted from one guild (will remain nameless) because I was arguing with someone who was a lower guildrank but held the same level of position as me within the guild. And then the guild enemied me to the city because I as a rogue was teaching a novice of theirs and one of the people (not even a guild official) didn't like it.

Oh, oh, oh yeah. I was kicked out for ratting in the sewers when the GM wanted to go down and do it. That's about it from me.

Lusternia requires more masochism. At least as a Celestian

I'm too tired to extrapolate the innuendo you're thinking of, so I'll just smile and nod.

What idiotic GM was that? That's just pathetic.

I find very sad that a guild says that they have so many novices and so many alts that they need to make the requirements impossible so there're not a hundred of rogue overharvesters who're there just in the guild to have herbalism.
No real novice will say that they will put the Guild or Nature before the direct order of a Divine. If a Divine tells you to go to somewhere when you should be watering the plants, you water the plants later.
No real novice will be able to survive a 4 hours interview hammering questions about "if a rabbit was crossing your grove when the moon is in crescent and a leaf of the tree is about to fall over his head, would you blow the leaf away so it didn't hurt the rabbit in case that leaf happened to be radioactive?". I mean, to have 4 hours free to answer an interview I must be on holidays or sick at home, and I'll probably have better things to do.
So... they ended up being the guild with more alts in the entire game. Alts who knew how good herbalism was, and how nice being a rogue druid was.
On the other hand, allowing people a simple set of requirements to show they're involved in the guild and deserve GF is one of the best things you can find. In the Aquamancers we had to implement that because there were too many people who were never noticed, and complained about that. At least this way nobody who wasn't gr3 could say it was because they couldn't.

Random, odd coincidence...
In the Aetolian druids we had a novice named Wren that stayed a novice for at least a decade.
Not because he couldn't find an interviewer, though. More that he'd just come around now and then, chat on GNT and do I don't know what...
Listening to all the horrible stuff about Achaea does make me feel better about having spent so much time in Aetolia though
I don't know what the Aetolian Druids are like these days, but I was always fighting to get them off the fence when I was there and change the image.
Fighting against Li'l Acorn as a novice title, and being called 'Droods'. I remember killing a vampire once or twice until he started addressing us as 'Druids'

If you read the required ghelps, you'd get that question easy. And if Sartan told me to inferno, I'd have told him to bugger off. That's all that means really. Anything besides that, such priorities don't even come into play.

But what if a Divine said that unless you gave a single health refill to a Sentinel enemy, she's burn down all the forests in the world? Someone gave that question in a sentinel interview, and the poor newbie said he'd give the refill, and was instantly outguilded =\\ The reason the tester gave was that he would willingly aid guild enemies when faced with empty threats, but the newbie (who was a real newbie) had no way to know that such threats were empty. You hear 'Divine' as a newb and you think 'all powerful being who can do whatever the heck they want.'
Sylphas2005-08-31 17:25:03
Ok, lemme rephrase. The SANE Sentinels were awesome. Whoever the hell that was needs shot.

Yeah, that's about when I started looking for a new MUD to play.
Iraen2005-09-01 02:16:45
I'm curious if that instance was ever brought up to someone in charge, or if it was just let go. It's hard to fix things like that when it's never brought to the attention of those who are able to do something about it.
