Can we have something for the athletics skillgroup? an example is with headslam, can we have it as:

You take (target)'s head between your hands and abruptly slam your forehead against (his/hers).
Tenebrae2005-08-21 17:34:37
barge:

You turn to face (target) as you slam your shoulder into their chest, a sense of shock falling from their body as they fly (direction).

(whoever) faces you as they slam their shoulder into your chest, a sense of shock falling from your face as you fly (direction).

resistance:

Your body shakes and grows a purplish hue as your fortify yourself with magical resistance.

Vitality:

You close your eyes for a moment and then feel vitality coursing through your body, causing you to shout out in ecstasy.

Breathe deep:

You stop where you are as you take on a medative pose, intaking your own karma to help you pursue your athletical behaviors for the coming day.

Can people list some more?

I'm missing what's wrong with the current messages, I think.
Tenebrae2005-08-21 18:02:13
it isn't what is wrong, but what can be added to increase the rp potential... when you duel for example, would it be better if you get 5 different responses for actions you can do? Wouldn't that seem more realistic than you jab jake, you jab jake, jake jabs you, jake razes you...

right?

Huh?
Unknown2005-08-22 17:15:55
The messages for attacks and defenses are already very detailed and so much more interesting to follow than many other games of this type. Why use a paragraph where a simple phrase would suffice, though?

(Side note: is 'athletical' even a real word? I don't think so.)
Tenebrae2005-08-22 17:46:16
Strength:

You close your eyes in a brief meditation before veins begin to flicker underneath your eyelid and through your body, bolting you upright and forcing you to call out in a roar.

Intimidation:

You stare at (whoever) as they stare back at you, only to lunge at them and stretch your face, scanting them off with the face of a monster.

Doors:

You step back against the door and complemate it for a moment, before you slam against it in an effort to barge through.

Immunity:

You look over to a snake tattoo over your back and give it a rub, as it sparkles everescently with a glowing power.

Hunger:

You poke at your lean stomach as it grumbles hungrily, and suddenly feel your lips parch and crack, letting blood flow freely.

Here are some for blademaster:

Behead:

A look of decisiveness crawls across your face as you whip your sword aptly and behead (whoever) in one stroke.

or

You raise your blade above your head before you begin an eloquent dance, passing the blade infront of (whoever)'s disbelieving eyes, only to jump and run the blade through the neck, severing the head.
Disembowel:

You suddenly jab (whoever) and get your sword stuck with their bowels, before you visciously rip it out, blood and innards splattering all over you and the surroundings.

LegTendon:

You casually flick your sword at (whoever) and rapture their tendons, leaving pieces along the ground.

or

You close your eyes in retort as you slam your sword down, cutting away (whoever)'s tendons as they look at you in horror.

Coule:

You aplty parry the incoming attack and slap the hands with the flat-side of your blade.

or

You feign defeat as the incoming attack comes towards you, only at the last second to parry it and strike the offender's hands.

Impale:

You slam your blade through (whoever) only to begin knocking on it with your elbow to make sure it impales them all the way.

or

You recieve a surge of strength, letting it go when you impale (whoever) with your blade.

PinLeg:

You look at (whoever), look at their leg, glance back at them, then run your blade through their leg, holding it in place.

or

You count briefly to yourself, "Three, Two, One!" before you jab (whoever)'s leg, pinning them to the ground.

SlitThroat:

You twirl behind (whoever), only to pull their head back and slit their throat.

or

You twirl the blade expertly with your hand, only to kick their head, forcing them to fly upwards, and slit their throat before they fall down to the ground.

Lunge:

You give a cloud-shattering warcry as you lunge towards (whoever), blade pointed out.

or

You gather your energy as you suddenly lunge towards (whoever), blade outwards.

CollapseLungs:

You grin for a moment as you suddenly jab your sword into (whoever) causing them to cough out blood.

or

You flash out with a boost of speed, letting (whoever) only stare at you and begin to splatter blood over the ground.

SeverNerve (I never actually seen this work out, so I don't exactly know what could or could not be said for it..... sad.gif )

PierceLeg:

You jab your blade at whoever, piercing it the leg.

or

You hold the blade palm forwards, before turning it and piercing (whoever)'s leg to the side.

Scalp:

You twirl your blade around (whoever)'s scalp, before pulling it free with your hand.

or

You smile sadly at (whoever), before piercing their scalp from the front with your blade, and leaving an exit from the back, and rip it off with horrified screams coming out.

ScepticWound (again, didn't see it)

PunctureChest:

You jab your blade at (whoever)'s chest, making them cough out blood and mucus.

SliceEar:

You twirl your blade expertly before hacking down (whoever)'s ear.

or

You nearly cleave off (whoever)'s ear, cruelly leaving it dangling, and watch in amusement as (he/she) tears their ear off in pain.

OpenGut:

You close in to (whoever) and slice open the gut with surgical profession.

or

Your eyes glint as you dazzle your (whoever) with your swordsmanship, before cleaving open their gut.

For Forecast:

You lick your thumb and stick it up in the air, before you pull it back down with realization on your face.

Focus Body:

You close your eyes and tense your body, before releasing with your motor skills intact.

or

You let the tension of your body go, regaining what motor skills you may have lost.

Heartstop:

You clutch at your heart, scramble a few steps, then fall down on the ground backwards, your hands reaching up into the air for assistance before you die.

Clotting:

You close your eyes and exert your body to push itself, then watch as your blood flow suddenly boosts, then slightly diminishes.

Under knighthood:

Lightning:

Your body eases itself into a cat-like stance, an on rushing feeling of agility coursing through your body.

Concentrated:

You look behind your weaponry to make sure, for the fifth time, that they will be accurate in the next strike.

Aggressive:

You laugh out in a reckless pleasure as your veins suddenly pulsate with an increasing amount of blood.

Defensive:

You turn around to face the world, feeling as if you have metal of a shield in your body.

Envenom:

You professionally tip droplets of venom over your weapon, making sure that every drop counts.

...I still don't see the point of this even after you explained it.

If you want varied messages, everyone with a system will kill you since they'll have to update for them.

huh.gif You heartstop of your own free will... Why would you ask for assisstance? blink.gif Anyway, I love the one right now. crying.gif laugh.gif

Tenebrae2005-08-23 16:25:13
So the cost to a better rp is laziness? meh... and if we have multiple possiblities, perhaps, it would be better.... Can we have a divine say in this?
Richter2005-08-23 16:29:48
I have an idea, let's make guides kill-able.

Ceres2005-08-23 16:52:51
Tenebrae confuses me sometimes.
Richter2005-08-23 17:16:03
I feel your pain Ceres.
Tenebrae2005-08-23 18:20:27
ack... I have an idea richter, but it may be a bit unorthodox... maybe, i don't know, but maybe, you can think outside of the box for a second, and look at the overall picture? Because if you find a news article in your old commune saying in short, "Who wants to be a guide?" and then find out that you will be divine for a while, you will begin to wonder, why? How the hell are we going to be able to cover this, that we are to become gods and back, and we won't be able to show others our immense might perhaps... We are gods. and we want to prove to the world that we are... So that any newbies that look up to the divines and the guides and really realize how insignificant they are... That is roleplaying.

And Ceres, can you tell me when I don't confuse you? Because then I could actually congratulate myself for once knowing that I have finally found someone who understands what I am going for.

I have no idea what you just said.
Ashteru2005-08-23 18:47:18
Well, I think that he meant following:
That the guides really are characters like Murphy, Daevos, Brylle, Nejii etc. and that they only sit there at the portals for a short time and then they leave their semi-godhood and become the normal Ravenous Spindle or Page Bobbins and so on again.

And thus should be exempt from any RPing attempts to/with them.
Unknown2005-08-23 21:04:41
Guides are not Divine, despite what some of them may think. Check their honors, and you'll find that they are all normal races, and they are also not in the realms for roleplaying. Skein shouting that the mortals should be quiet the other day really peeved me.
Richter2005-08-23 21:10:00
Let's change their race then? *shrug*
