Ackleberry aligned to Glom or Seren....

Back to The Polling Place.

You mean, something might not have an EXACT OPPOSITE in Lusternia?!?

No way!
Galatae2005-08-22 22:59:21
What would be the exact opposite to Ackleberry, anyway?

... oh right, the Cactus commune. Let the battle between water and desert commence!

To be honest, I hope Ackleberry doesn't come back before one of the two cities. Here's the reason why.

1) Hallifax and/or Glomdoring should come back because they might help even out the cities. Some have complained that there's too many good Magnagoran's and I think some might be willing to jump to a new place.

2) Order and/or Chaos, and the other two elements, nuff said.

3) You don't have to have both come back at once. One could come back before the other, to prevent too much player factionalization.

4) There are too many Wicca/Druid players already. Behind the scenes, I suspect there's a little too much drama based on how Glomdoring was formed and the fact that I think a lot of it has to do with internal power stuggles, disagreements with leadships, etc. I detect a bit of OOC tension there, and I think unless planned really well, Ackleberry could only increase tensions.

I think that'd be Farella.

Actually, I'd say Ellindel.

I think its obvious that if Ackleberry returns it will be distinct from both Serenwilde and Glomdoring in some way to preserve the (hypothetical) game balance, but I -highly- doubt that it will be flippant about the taint. I would expect instead that it will have reasons to fear the taint on one hand and will be given reasons to fear or be angered by Serenwilde on the other. I actually envisage Ackleberry as the most city-friendly of the communes, and the most diplomatic... so I'm hoping that their differences with other organizations are fear-based rather than hatred-based.

I actually wish Ackleberry would return sooner to bring the triad of the communes into a more moderate balance. At the moment there is either forest or tainted forest, natural or unnatural, happy fae or enslaved fae - the idealogical differences are at their most extreme. I think it would be helpful to add a third viewpoint that isn't aligned with either. Unlike the cities, there are only three communes so exactly opposite polarities cannot adequately reflect the commune situation (like Magnagora-Celest, Glomdoring-Serenwilde at the moment).

I still don't believe we have the playerbase to have a fifth organization at this point. I see us getting another -one- two years down the road or something.
Unknown2005-08-22 23:49:09
I think within a year we'll have Gaudiguch and Hallifax back out.

I don't want ackleberry. People will whine until it becomes something it isn't, and I'll be sad inside.

If Ackleberry becomes the place the Lakewoods clan wants, then we won't have to worry about thim. The gods might as well let all that want in and seal it back, it won'T do much more.

The Spirits of the Crystal Sea are different than River, I think.  Ackleberry IS the water commune, more or less.  Since their Greater Fae is, well, River and all.

The fourth one doesn't exist, but it's driven most of us to the assumption one exists, since, well.  It just wouldn't be balanced.

Well maybe, but remember it seems more like the spirits are River and Tree

And if they do i'd enjoy reading how one city managed to escape without the other from something that tied them together. plus that city would do everything to block efforts to release the other

Perhaps you assume too much about Gaudiguch and Hallifax. Pretty much nothing is known about what happened to them.
Saran2005-08-23 01:30:11
aside from the fact that the for some reason the draining affect of the Crucible formation somehow affected project Paradox and caused both cities to disappear

We know with almost 100% certainty their nexii are linked together. I can't see how one can be brought back without the other being brought back.

Anyone watch Inuyasha? You know the Jewel of the Four Souls? How, inside, a priestess and a demon do battle still? Yea. It's like that. Their nexii are linked inexplicably!
Saran2005-08-23 01:44:58
it could be explained away as
"they have been fighting all this time and one has won, unlinking their nexus and freeing only their city"
but still it doesn't make sense

oh and WHEE buterflies
