So far Glomdoring is writing laws to ban the constant drain of astral nodes, serenwilde is having a referendum to see if they will, Celest has brought it up to the star council and mag is looking pretty non-committal

Since none of the gods care and a constant watch hasn't worked it comes to this - each community banning the constant over drain of nodes so that the last truely mutual resource can remain intact.

There are people out there who believe that the plane should be kept drained as it lowers credit prices and keeps easy bashing in the hands of the elite, because titan is too easy.

If these people were destroying the herbs of the world just because they wanted the value to go up would you stand for it?

Just because most people don't go up to astral doesn't mean that it doesn't effect you. The soldiers of your home gather their strenght, power and money for herbs from astral keeping them fit, stocked and keeping the drain on nexuses low.

So I wanna know if anyone cares, if anyone thinks it should be drained and any good arguments about why "its out of the juristiction of the governement to pass such laws"

I'm torn on both sides. I do want a bashing spot back and I do want the gold and power generated there, but I don't want credit prices to skyrocket again though.

It was Hajamin who said that the gods did care, they weren't growing in essence nearly as quickly anymore.

I personally would like to see the nodes back up...it was alot more convenient before when I could just stay on one sphere for a while but now I have to run around gathering respawns while competing with the other cubix people at the same time...-tickle Melanchthon-..but I'll live either way I suppose.

Raguel, I'm sure if you launched a Public Drive, across Market, and organised inter-organisational meetings, with the specific, and only purpose of working on these laws, then you would progress better than keeping it OOC.

Let's see ... I can't hunt on Astral (can't even -get- there), and I would much rather have credit prices lower so I have a chance of affording them. Not that I'm unsympathetic to those of you who have lost a viable hunting ground ... but I'd prefer it to remain dead, I guess. That, or nerf the gold it would give?

Credit prices are now affordable since Astral died. I'm sure people will debate why it DID fell, but I don't think anyone denies that it'd rise again if Astral came back, because the infinite gold means people can just buy them all out, and no we can't just trust people not to do that. I liked the infinite gold/power/experience, but it was hurting more important things like the economy. I actually have to trade to get gold now. Anyway, we haven't put it to a referendum yet (check your information better, Raguel) but we will put it to one. Hope people see the better solution for the game.

Uhh... its actually the credit sales guys, and these credit prices aren't low, they're mid to high.
So don't go saying you want astral ruined cause you want credit prices low because it has little to no actual economic effect.

And nayl I have been doing everything i can to get these nodes online. The gods have made it perfectly clear that they will not help, admins too even though it was roark who caused the problem in the first place by changing the nature of nodes and resetting their power (bad roark) So far i've been lobbying politicians. There's no point in organinsing a big interorganisation meeting if you don't know that they're all going to say yes.

If each community passes laws to this effect then that will be the first step, we can actually DO something to the people who drain astral instead of trying to round up a posse and hunting them which isn't all the fun/effective (unless they're tiny people and you're sadistic and overpowered)

These credit prices are low for Lusternia. And they were -ridiculous- before. Of course the credit sales have something to do with it, but it's been explained repeatedly how Astral had a factor too.

Astral is still dead, and credit prices just shot up to 7k per. I think we can safely say that it isn't Astral that is causing credit inflation, but greedy bastards.

The credit sale's still on, too.

it bearly has a factor. Not many people actually bash up there, and fewer regularly enough to make a difference in the economy. Most of the people who bash there have already bought credits (like me) and tend to by other things. Cash has to be injected into the economy from somewhere and it may as well be here.
I'm a herbalist but i don't harvest unless i'm really board because its just not really worth it - herb prices are so low. But i wouldn't go so far as to exterminate a herb just to raise its value. That would be beyond selfishness to an unthinkable extreme. This is just the same, its not just the money but the way of life that its being destroyed. Some people like to live on nodes and you're depriving them of a home and a livelihood.

Astral needs to come back, but no astral critter should ever drop more than 80 gold, have the gold drop range from 40 to 80gp roughly.
