So far Glomdoring is writing laws to ban the constant drain of astral nodes, serenwilde is having a referendum to see if they will, Celest has brought it up to the star council and mag is looking pretty non-committal

I am seriously getting sick about retarded comments like this. Magnagora was the FIRST organisation with a chelp scroll saying not to drain nodes below Motes. All you slack bastards are only starting to catch up with us now. To be honest, its not our fault that Magnagora is just head and shoulders above all you when it comes to sensible policies to try and keep things fair.

The credit prices now are proportionally higher than they were before, given the lack of an easy gold source via Astral.
Amaru2005-08-24 08:58:42
I haven't read any of the posts before this.

I LOVE Astral not existing. It forces retards like Kharvik and Melanchthon to get down to Prime and get involved in some real tough stomach-wrenching warfare.

Plus, it stops people like Eiru getting Titan, which is always a good thing. I even noticed... wait for it... NIARA ON PRIME selling herbs yesterday, which is certainly an improvement. Who can seriously complain about Astral being dead?

It's the best thing to happen to Lusternia since Celest owned half of it!

It goes without saying that I'll vehemently oppose any sort of Celestian rule against draining nodes to zero. The only rule we've ever had was a lame Stagaresque 'bashing rule' which I used to violate just to annoy him.

Kharvik ain't no retard. Granted, I'm biased because I know him vaguely and use him for various demeaning tasks. And I saw Argilent down here, too. Scary stuff. I still want astral back, though.

This is just such preposterous crap.

There's now nowhere to bash for anyone in their 60s or 70s, even early 80s. Which means experience lost from deaths cannot be regained, and thus discourages people from fighting, so as not to lose what they cannot make up.

Please - where have you been bashing lately?
Unknown2005-08-24 09:04:50
Aww man, someone drained all the nodes?! Someone should kill the loser who did that foul act. The unthinking beast.
Ceres2005-08-24 09:06:00
Hard when they're never ingame anymore mad.gif

This is my main concern. They could drop negative gold for all I care, as long as I have a nice place to bash when I trans planar.

Ethereal?

That's where I bash

The Catacombs generally aren't an option for Celestians and Serenwilders. If only they were...
Nayl2005-08-24 11:35:24
Who said -anything- about Catacombs?
Ceres2005-08-24 11:51:34
Ethereal is not a practical bashing ground.

Nor does it give good experience.
Soll2005-08-24 11:54:45
Catacombs are on Ethereal, and are a bashing ground. There's no real other place to hunt on Ethereal, that's a good place to hunt, or is called a hunting grounds.

It's not practical. But it's fun.
Ceres2005-08-24 12:51:10
If you enjoy losing experience, sure.
Nayl2005-08-24 13:01:41
I lose exp?

Good. Level 80 is as high as anyone should be, in my opinion. High levels are a new phenomenon, for years 86 was Achaea's highest level and was seen as incredibly high - I think any old Achaeans can testify that Achaea was better BEFORE higher levels became the norm; the same would apply to Lusternia if it weren't for retarded button-tappers like Melanchthon, Kharvik and Aesyra.

It will teach people to care about dying, and make PK more competitive and therefore more involved. I prefer a situation where PKers get exp from PKers, who get exp from PKers, who get exp from bashers and PKers. Sharing is caring.

Bashing is a lame necessity which makes death mean something in terms of the hours-of-boredom-making-up-for-it. That's all bashing is, it's PK's bitch.

The Sea of Despair. Arr, wench.

Always funny to read many of the comments here, especially Amaru and in this case Daevos too. Of course does Daevos start to like Astral being dead. With having the catacombs under your control you still have a pretty decent hunting ground off-plane, i.e. if you die the worst thing that can happen is that you have to conglutinate. I guess if Serenwilde or Celest would have free access to such a place we wouldn't mind Astral too much either.

I would like to see Astral slowly return to its former self, I don't know if certain people will allow it but I think as Athana, either way I will live well with it.

Oh, and about this nonsense that you now have a reason to earn gold with your trade. You had as much reason before as you have now. Due to the lack of gold getting generated through mobs there is a lot less gold in play and that means that people have much less gold to buy things and also there is far less demand of many things, especially alchemists notice that. But of course, it is just the credit sale that makes up the economics of Lusternia.
Thorgal2005-08-24 15:52:10
Amaru's got a point about the levels though, a high level in Lusternia means nothing at the moment, because of Astral. Extremism can be fun to some degree, but if you overdo it you land at a game in perpetual god-mode and powergaming without the slightest trace of integrity and value.

Whatever does or will happen, Astral certainly shouldn't go back to exactly what it was before, I'd rather have it permanently dead than that.
