High level in Achaea was rare back then because there was no such thing as Dragon. After Dragons became an option, you suddenly saw a drastic increase in levelling, within less than 2 RL years, Achaea already has over 20 Dragons. And it's rather pathetic to call people retards because they don't want to involve in fighting, Amaru. Not all of us come here to PK, some are just to RP or relax.
Amaru2005-08-24 15:59:54
I thought it was because of critical hits and the Underworld actually, Terenas.

And I didn't call people retards for wanting to RP or relax, that's cool. It's just people who bash to level 100, IE spend 30 or so actual whole 24 hour days of their life tapping buttons to see 'You have slain a mitran'.
Singollo2005-08-24 16:02:20
No. Most people didn't bash Underworld, actually. People can do what they want, what do you care? If someone didn't pk before level 100, its likely they won't after it, and those that did pk are likely to quit soon after making Titan, ala every pking dragon on Achaea.

You obviously didn't read my previous posts.
Narsrim2005-08-24 16:05:01
Lusternia, however, was smart enough to make bashing MORE important once you get level 100 than before... so people who like to bash are going to be doing so forever. I expect them to stick around far longer.
Terenas2005-08-24 16:05:32
Yeah, those factors as well, they're means to achieve the goal, without that goal earlier, no one really bothered to strive beyond level 80 for the no need to sleep and eat.

But anyway, I think the most major problem with Astral is the ability to link to call in more creatures. If a new mob was to populate a new sphere every minute or so, up to a maximum of 5, instead of us being able to just hit/link, repeat we can solve quite a few problems.
Raguel2005-08-24 16:06:17
Amaru - if you don't like bashing astral then don't.
I don't like pking but i LOVE bashing astral, no matter how much pleasure you derive from insulting it.

Draining nodes is selfish, just because you don't like astral having any use doesn't mean you should ruin it for the rest of us.

If i didn't like just anyone making money off plants then that wouldn't give me the right to destroy etire crops or make them extinct.
Singollo2005-08-24 16:07:32
You're right Amaru. I tend not to read selfish inuendos about how people want to PWNage the world.
Sylphas2005-08-24 16:10:18
The problem is, now we have people level 50-60 facing people level 80+, with no good way to make up that gap.
Amaru2005-08-24 16:10:27
Yeah but Raguel... thus far, Lusternia is essentially a game where level doesn't matter in terms of game balance. But if the trend continues and Magnagora/Glomdoring start to fill up with Titans and Demigods, the game is going to become rather retarded. It's inevitable, with such an easy bashing ground as Astral existing, such powers available to Titans, and such retards who have the time to waste getting there.

The only suggestion I can think of to rectify this would be some kind of limit on the amount of Titans.

And Singollo, 'why do you care what others do?' - Because it affects the game. This is what the forums are for, discussing things which affect Lusternia. If you think Titans don't PK, or people bashing Astral doesn't affect everyone else, you are very deluded.
Narsrim2005-08-24 16:13:40
Amaru,

Magnagora was essentially given the only bashing area that cannot be manipulated by players and taken away; furthermore, they were given the IC justification to "claim" this area such that only they would truly want to be there, and everyone else should not be there.

With or without Astral, Magnagora is going to have Titans and Demigods; however, that's it until a new neutral-oriented area is designed where no party can "make claim."
Amaru2005-08-24 16:15:38
Sorry, I should correct myself. I have a problem with Titans and Demigods, rather than with Astral existing. People who want to spend their time bashing Astral and never coming down (Stagar) hardly affect the game anyway.
Raguel2005-08-24 16:15:59
I don't bash astral for the money or for the level but for the fun. I enjoy it and even if i get nowhere in the long run it is still nice to see yourself go up a percent or two and regain where you were before your last battle on prime. Astral is not the avatar of titanship, it is simply a way for those who dedicate their life to reaching demigod that do, and with or without astral they will.
Singollo2005-08-24 16:18:51
Well then there's an idea, Amaru. How about limiting the number of Titans to the number of seals.
Terenas2005-08-24 16:18:57
Astral was good for making up the experience lost from all the dying on Prime, not to mention for drawing power since in Serenwilde we have a low power allotment. I can care less about the gold right now, but rather the power.

Works for me. Associate Titans with seals and give them seal-specific powers for all I care. I'd also like to see Demigods forced to become Avatars of a specific God like Aesyra was, that would keep them under control and be good for overall roleplay.

They do, if they want to have their full power (i.e. god-specific powers).
Thorgal2005-08-24 16:31:15
That'd work, here's what I suggest:

* One Titan per seal.

* One Demigod per elder god.

* Astral gold reduced to maximum 80 gold per drop.

* A dead astral node becomes dormant for half a game year (1 week), then wakes up at full power.

chin.gif Liking it. Liking it a lot.
Ceres2005-08-24 16:51:42
So the high-level Magnagorans bash their little hearts out, take all the "slots" and then no-one else can get Titan. Yeah, great one.
