Well, yeah. Except it would be common knowledge which slots there were, so it wouldn't be like s/he'd find out at the last moment.

That is really one of the dumbest ideas that I read here. You can't think very far ahead, can you? How would it look like in just a year? Maybe 10 people trying to become titan and waiting for one of the major pklers to retire?

I still have yet to see a problem with the titans. Of course that might change once Melanchthon and Kaervas make it there, but even then I don't think that there will be any real problem and if Eiru'd ever make it to titan, well, I don't know. You have no real idea how much effort it is, especially at the moment.

To be honest Niara, I didn't even think it through. It's a stupid idea; but then so is the idea that level 99 and 100 should become Titans/Demigods/Dragons.

But if there wasn't some overpoweringly 1eet thing at the end of the experience rainbow, people wouldn't have as much grounds to whine endlessly about being killed and losing exp.

I'm a retard because I dont want to mindlessly pk like you Amaru? People play these games for different reasons, for you obviously it was to fight, for me it was to make my character grow. I bashed for gold for credits so I could learn skills and get some artifacts. Unlike some people I cant afford to just buy all my credits ooc at once and trans all my skills. Now I have a character with some cool abilities, bonus stats, and who has earned his skills IG. I think it is pretty lame that you would flame anyone who put the time and effort into reaching a goal such as Titan or Demigod and call them retarded for it.

And on a side note, I bet you have spent more time in this game than myself. From what I hear you dont have much room to be mocking people for the amount of time spent here. But whatever, this post probably wont even penetrate that thick skull of yours.

Right, Kharvik, some people will never understand that other people have other goals and reasons for playing here. I for myself don't intend to involve myself into fights, not as titan and not as demigoddess. I might try and learn how to defend myself but that won't make me a threat. I always thought it a great idea having a reason for hunting that long. It is not my problem that you cannot become a titan just by pk, but as Lusternia is no pk-mud I think that it is fine.

Oh, and Ceres, is this an offer or a threat?

Ahh Niara, don't get me wrong. I have no problem with anyone harmlessly bashing their way to Titan and to whatever form of personal satisfaction. The problem comes when they transfer that to the world of PK, like Kharvik has done, and their ....'earned'.... extra powers as Titan. This isn't personal, I'm confident about my chances against any Titan, it's about game balance.

Has the basher who 'earned' his Titan status by spending days bashing... really 'earned' to be superior to the professional player who comes to have fun, and hasn't the time for bashing? Or should on-the-spot skill count for more than how much effort you've put into your character?

And Kharvik, I'm sorry if you feel that it's unfair that some people have money to spend on the game. Is it no less earned than your Titan status?

Hm. Well this is devolving into mudslinging pretty quickly. Aside from the fact that the topic has shifted from "what do we do about astral nodes" to "WTFOMGBBQ What's up with titans, anyway?"

As to the second topic, it makes me think a bit about imperian. In Imperian, getting the level 99 thingie isn't particularly overpowered, or even necessarily that useful in PK. It's a nice RP thingie, and still an interesting goal for those who like to bash, but it's not like Achaean dragons or Lusternian Titans/Demigods. And coincidentally, one doesn't hear nearly as much whining about lost Exp over there. Granted, I think XP loss for being PKed is much lower there, and it's more of a PK culture, but I do think that nerfing the demigods, without making it a completely pointless goal to reach for, would make losing XP in conflict somewhat easier to deal with. I mean, if I'm a fighter, who cares if I'm level 74 or 76? It's about the same amount of health/mana/ego, the 10 lessons aren't going to make or break me, and it's not a whole week of bashing toward the Ultimate PK Power lost.

I dunno, just babbling.

I'm not saying its unfair people have money to spend on the game, I'm explaining some of my personal reasons for bashing so much, I have no other option for credits. Summer vacation and I cant seem to find a job = a lot of free time on my hands.

As for Titan making me superior to the "professional" player, thats a joke. Any named fighter could still beat me easily I'm sure. All Titan gives you is +2 to all your stats pretty much and unless I'm extremely desperate, wouldnt use Thunderclap with its new limitations.

Anyways, back on topic. The situation currently is very unfair to the non-magnagoran and I think Astral should come back but have some real changes made to it. It is like Ceres said, if you die and have to pray, theres no where to earn back that lost exp at all really, except perhaps with gorgogs which are frequently bashed out. I cant forsee Astral really ever coming back though since there will always be that one person who drains the node back to empty giving it no time to recharge and since the Admin most likely arent gonna fix the situation.

I agree with that, Anumi. I think that people would be willing to become Titan if we allowed them things like..

- customised shouts
- customised attacks
- customised entrances

Without giving them stupid powers like thunderclap.
