I'm hoping those heading up the exploit were banned, not just shrubbed. They make me look like a saint.

There are different people working one the two projects. Thus the timeline of one does not impact the timeline of the other.

This makes me really, really sad. I'm sorry, but cheating Lusternia like that is just... stupid.
I'm glad they were all shrubbed. I honestly hope that clan was bought with OOC credits. I hope they had bought credits themselves as a player before the exploitation, and hope they regret this for every moment they ever think of Lusternia.
It's just.. disgusting. Even Guido's better than this.

And, take your time, Lusternia. We know you're trying damn, DAMN hard.
Gwylifar2005-08-24 22:52:46
I have three things to say about three distinct groups.
Administration: If I can get them to trust me with some addresses, what say we go in together to buy some flowers or candies or something nice to thank them for putting up with all this? If even half of us put $5 each in we can send a well-earned "thank you" to some folks who need it and have well earned it. Yes, I'm serious about this, and I'll contribute and do the coordination (I'm assuming people will trust me not to run off with your $5, but if not, maybe someone else can be appointed).
To the people who knew what they were doing as they shredded the rules and the economy: My blessing for you is that you should be the next victim of the next person like you who comes along. Let's see how you like when some unscrupulous bastard ruins something you cared about just for some petty and temporary personal gain.
To everyone else: Remember that not everyone who has been shrubbed falls into the above group. Some of those who were shrubbed were shrubbed not for intentionally exploiting a bug, but for the much simpler mistake of not handling the information properly. That's not a good thing -- reporting bugs is vital. But as serious as it is, it's an order of magnitude different from people who acted out of selfish malice. Don't spit on people who only made a mistake, because I bet you made a mistake once. They're paying for their mistake as they should, but there's no call to spit on them besides.

I suspect that is more than most of the other IRE games. Maybe Achaea has more, though Aeyr and Sarapis don't really code for Achaea specifically anymore, so if you take them away then we may actually have more. And if you are curious, we opened with two (Estarra working 50/50 building/coding and I just coding).

We can keep shipping fees down by ordering from a business located in the home country of each administrator/coder. The Internet is a wonderful thing.

or we could all buy credits, it takes them very little to put them in the game, it gives more than 5 dollars to them, and we get to playwith the credits after

It gives them to the business, but not to the actual people who are going through all this, some of whom are volunteers.
I think it'd be especially classy if the perpetrators were to contribute.

That's wrong, we decided not to shrub the idiots who just didn't report things, the only people shrubbed were those directly involved with it and benefiting from it (with the possible exception of Branwyn).

You're welcome.
After learning the list of names of people shrubbed, I'm surprised by a few of them (Revan, Athana). But not so much by others. How long has this been going on, anyone know?
Come to think of it, how many Cubixes does Magnagora have now? Not too many, at the very least.

I'm pretty sure they have one besides Marcalo's, or at least they used to. Wasn't it Aajen's, or Alger's, or one of those other badass Ur'guard?

It was her I was thinking of primarily. I was leaving room for the possibility that there were more cases like hers simply because I don't have the information on which to judge. I trust that the truth will be sorted out, but in the meanwhile, the madding crowd won't be waiting for it to come to their conclusions (as has already been seen). I'm precisely as eager to see those who were malicious flayed and left for buzzards in the desert sun, as I am to see those who only made an error in judgment not given any more punishment than their actions warrant, and that's true no matter who falls into which camp. So I'm just urging everyone to keep a considerate head about this. The buzzards will still be there tomorrow.

False. I didn't directly benefit at all, since I didn't even -use- the money. I was expecting Kayde to bug it, as she was telling me she was, and I wanted the money somewhere safe. It would have been rather bad looking if I went hunting and someone stole my gold. I did learn a lesson though. Never will I ever rely on other people to take care of a bug, even if they tell me they did. I am NOT pleased with what happened at all, regardless of what you may think. I love Lusternia as much as anyone else.

Receiving the gold is benefiting from it. If you have such a story, send it to support@lusternia.com, I'm sure we'll get a number of them.
