And if you are curious, we opened with two (Estarra working 50/50 building/coding and I just coding).
True. We worked a year before opening with just Roark and myself coding, so 4 coders seems like a luxury!
QUOTE(Gwylifar @ Aug 24 2005, 03:52 PM)
Administration: If I can get them to trust me with some addresses, what say we go in together to buy some flowers or candies or something nice to thank them for putting up with all this? If even half of us put $5 each in we can send a well-earned "thank you" to some folks who need it and have well earned it. Yes, I'm serious about this, and I'll contribute and do the coordination (I'm assuming people will trust me not to run off with your $5, but if not, maybe someone else can be appointed).
That's very touching! Your support is more than enough thanks--please don't send us candy or anything.
(On second thought, you can send Hajamin some coffee so he can stay up longer and code!)
Soll2005-08-24 23:44:49
Estarra's paranoid that the candy might be a Lusternia virus.
Gwylifar2005-08-24 23:47:41
I was thinking of a nice gourmet coffee collection for him, actually. Okay, no candy, but how about potted plants? Seems a lot nicer than paying someone to kill some flowers for you, and lasts a lot longer. Of course it does mean something you have to take care of, too.
Another option is an Amazon.com gift certificate; it's a little less personal (and this is a gesture, after all), but no one has to trust me with a mailing address.

We could get them like an e-gift certificate or something.
Unless Estarra really didn't want anything... I thought that they just didn't want to give the addresses out (which is smart). Tainted candy = bad.
Edit: 'ed

Send them a shrubbery. Attach a tag with the word 'Marcalo' on it.
Gwylifar2005-08-24 23:50:48
They're probably afraid I'll come find their houses, stalk them, and then when they're feeling safe, jump out and complain about something.
Nokraenom2005-08-24 23:54:56
...or you could just arrange it via a PayPal account with Estarra as the administrator of the account, and she could send out the certificates/candy/plants/coffee/whatever to the coders and admins involved.

For Estarra, you can just buy yourself credits... a win-win present!!!

But that doesn't help if we're mostly broke and just want to send in 5-10 dollars Well, I suppose the 15 credit package, but I'd rather give you money and get nothing than feel like I'm paying that much for so so few credits
Unknown2005-08-25 00:31:26
I'll send you all some Bucci.. You've not lived until you've spent all night on a Bucci. Nope.
Laysus2005-08-25 00:32:33
I vote the brits all head up north and buy Lis a round of drinks

Shamarah2005-08-25 00:42:01
Guido, get on the shrubbery, and I'll drag out the herring!
Unknown2005-08-25 02:42:27
Once we've spent a few years to cut down the largest tree in the forest, which one of you wants to have it in a pot?
If we're doing a gift/donation pot for the administration someone let me know. If not, I just want to say thank you all for being wonderful. Actually, I'll say it regardless of the gift thing, but... um, yes.

Srangely enough, I had some Mozart playing through my headphones when I read that.

Viravain2005-08-25 04:17:48
For most of us this is volunteer work, so buying credits is going to be better overall for the game. Better for you, since you get to use them, and better for us, through a happy Estarra! So, buy lots of credits!

I want a lute (or a shrubbery with a nametag, that was fun too)

Hajamin's already told us it smells like a coffee shop when he goes to the toilet. I think the last thing he needs is more coffee.
