Cubixes should cost power

It's all in the title. 5 power per touch.

All this neverending 'Marsu on Celestia', 'Marsu on Water' needs to stop. It shouldn't be so easy to just jump from plane to plane, killing freely.
Thorgal2005-08-27 15:14:16
You haven't been around when Marcalo oozed through the planes, now that was annoying, for Celest.
Marsu2005-08-27 15:15:19
Right and when in your dreamworld they add a 5 power cost, I want my 2000 credits back.
Revan2005-08-27 15:15:44
Umm... a cubix is a $600 artifact. No, Amaru. Put away the crack
Unknown2005-08-27 15:15:59
That, and only an owner can use it?
Amaru2005-08-27 15:16:17
Whoever it is, I'm just using Marsu as an example. Cubixes should be used for, say, moving a group to Celestia to kill Supernals, and letting them escape afterwards.

It shouldn't be able to be used to appear on a plane, kill an angel, disappear before anyone can come, appear on a different plane, repeat - and if anyone ever comes, just touch it to instantly escape. It's as bad as archways.
Unknown2005-08-27 15:21:11
Perhaps put a limit between touches? Nothing insanely long, but to stop Marcalo/faethorn repeats.
Amaru2005-08-27 15:22:17
I'm sorry Marsu, I know you paid a hell of a lot for it. But I just think it's insane, and the fact it's cost a lot doesn't change how crazy it is.
Marsu2005-08-27 15:22:54
The option for you to purchase a cubix for the same fast access to the planes to chase said person is there, just because you can't or don't want to purchase a cubix for yourself thats your own problem.

Yet again you want the Admin to change things to suit you when the options are available. An expensive option but it is an option and I can guarantee that if it was changed to 5 power a lot of people would be requesting their money back.

How much organizational damage does that actually do, though? It's really just annoyance tactics that are apparently working. No real loss for you, no real gain for whomever does it.
Amaru2005-08-27 15:25:59
How is it to suit me? I can do the exact same thing to Magnagora with a cubix. Lazul has and does. Objectivity?

Edit: Melanchthon, the loss is that people are unable to stop elemental plane essence gathering, which leads to the renewal of Supernals/Demon Lords, which would otherwise only be possible if they took a force and fought for control of the plane.
Marsu2005-08-27 15:33:19
Thanks for strengthening my point that the option to be an annoying cubix user is available to everyone. smile.gif

Aside from that, it doesn't let you gather essence unhindered. Just now the only essence I managed to get was what Luxis dropped when he died. After which you arrived and I had to jet because I don't deny that you can beat me hands down. If the enemy is prepared which you all were its just as difficult as transversing onto the plane in a demesne etc.

We only got a number of suckers and leeches earlier because there were 3 of us, which we would of gotten if we had transversed on anyway.

All it really takes is someone wary watching the plane and people willing to respond. You would get at most a handful of kills as a raider. Nil knows, I get enough Farscouts ever day to do the job alone. If it's important, you defend it, if it's not, I guess people just whine about it on the forums.
Amaru2005-08-27 15:34:34
My point is, Marsu... what you're saying is like saying nothing in Combat or Arts can be a bad skill, because everyone can get it. It doesn't matter. A bad thing is a bad thing.

That's a valid point, but you have to demonstrate that it is indeed unreasonable in its effect and that there is no reasonable counter to it. I don't think either of those is the case.

It is essentially impossible to stop him from killing a single angel or a single elemental creature. Even if you camp the cubix point, he can run, or simply cubix back out.

EDIT: Or, it could be like with Marcalo, who would cubix into the Faethorn, grope/fondle/otherwise annoy people, then cubix right back out.

The problem is that even when we -do- defend, cubixes make it impossible.

Sorta off subject a second but you should knock Luxis down. He didn't shoo me off, I saw you on qwho and thought, sod that.

If cubixes are made to have a time delay or a power cost, I'm going to be very sad. sad.gif

EDIT: people should also be demesning Water and Celestia anyway
