What's your preference?...
Revan2005-08-27 20:21:55
Leave cubix as it is. You don't see any other IRE games nerfing their 2k credit transportation items. Can't handle a raid? tough it out

The kind with wee-wees. What's yours?
And, Revan, it's not a raid. It's being a pain in the arse and just causing grief.
(Haha, I talked about wee-wees and arse-pains in the same sentence. Teehee. Richter's gonna get mad. If I could work in a BDSM pun, I would.)

Do you know how the wings work on Imperian?

They removed the insta-escape aspect of them. You have to wear the wings, fly, and then you can poof away. It makes it more fair because even though it is a damn good escape ability, is has reasonable limitations.

personally from reading this whole topic, all this boils down to is, people saying ok i can't afford one of my own, so nerf it so they people who have them get mad and want refunds. just buy one, then you see a person you are fighting cubix off *gasp* you can chase them. Ohh they raided celestia ok, *touch cubix*raid nil* wow see instant satisfaction.

This coming from the moron who paid $600 for this virtual artefact, and then cheated with the subtlety of a neanderthal and got banned anyway.

i have never once claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed alright.
Amaru2005-08-27 21:05:14
Alright, just don't imply people 'can't afford' a cubix. We may simply not consider it to be worth the cost, or disapprove of it.
Narsrim2005-08-27 21:08:43
As a side note, I'd like to take a look at Achaea, Imperian, and Aetolia. Look at the places the wings exit to... they are common, non-hostile areas. The wings are used primarily for easy transport. In Lusternia, however, cubixes exit into enemy territories (by passing guards at nexuses). There is a huge difference.

The bottom line is that losing a few cosmic denizens or essence-bearing creatures...which is really all you can do with a cubix before someone not already there can respond...has miniscule impact any way you look at it. If you are worried about full-scale raids, watch the plane or scout your enemies. Do both, whatever.
Not a single person on this thread has demonstrated that cubix use cannot be reasonably countered, nor even that a cubix allows more than minimal impact unless you already have your pants down around your ankles to begin with...and whose fault is that? Buck up and protect what you want to protect.

Those five times in the past that I slew Gorgulu and no one noticed... was with the help of a cubix.

Exactly right. I bet you that no one was paying attention to Nil and that you weren't scryed, either. That's Magnagora's fault, and why you were able to do that. That's just how it should be.
Ashteru2005-08-27 21:21:55
I just want to clarify something:
We play Lusternia, and we talk about Lusternia. Imperian is different and has no place here.

In the same light when there are 30 some guards at the nexus, it is impossible to do without a cubix... regardless of who is watching.
