Am I the only non-novice non combatant? It sure seems like it.
Unknown2005-08-26 17:42:02
Some of us try to be non-combatants.
Unknown2005-08-26 17:45:07
Aye, hmm are you talking about only using influencing now? or just not attacking other players? or only defending your own area? or not running around killing masses of people?
Manjanaia2005-08-26 17:51:10
Manj was always less of a non-combatant, more of a can't-combatant.
Richter2005-08-26 17:58:24
Nah, I don't really even influence. I mean using the game for something other than fighting/influencing. I make stuff. Designs, rooms, a family, etc. I'm a creator, not a fighter (on this game).
Unknown2005-08-26 18:05:23
I'm slowly becoming like that, but I want my character to have a decent level so when I do those things I'll be established somewhat (I'm around Richter's level now and the EXP is getting sour so..).
Unfortunately for me influencing = gold until I get my trade off the ground (Which ain't too far from now) and if I put some music on it doesn't seem so dull. What I really want is a manse (Not a room!) and a private desk area (Bookbinding Roleplay - Desk = ) to get my personal roleplay running though.
One day.

heh, I hear ya there.
As for you Richter, well not all of us are in the position to design stuff, so even if we'd like to we can't. I am however working on a family/backstory/some other stuff. I do use Lusternia for things other then fighting, heh actually it useally uses me for fighting, i feel swept along, I'm never the one initiating fights it's always something sprung on me, like villages, or faethorn, or something.

A lot of people dabble in combat while not thinking of themselves as primarily fighters.

I dabble, only because I feel I must. I'd rather do other things though.

So do them! Richter usually ignores when people mobilize to defend the commune (though that's because he's about as selfish as, say, Raistlin).
Amaru2005-08-26 18:34:30
A lot of people don't like to get involved in combat, but have an 'I'd like to be able to defend myself' mindframe, I think.

I'm kind of like that, it's more in the lines of I'd like to be able to defend myself, my guild and my city.

It seems like it because you've chosen to cast your lot in with the dark and dreadful gothic types who flock to the tainted communities: the ones who want to be the baddest of the bad in a world where might makes right. Of course you're going to find yourself surrounded by people who came just to fight.
Not that the non-tainted half of the basin isn't overrun with glory-seeking warriors, but the deck is stacked less heavily.
Richter2005-08-26 19:43:23
We can be evil and not fight!
And you'd be surprised who I've "cast my lots" with. I have color triggers for my merchants, and an entire "enemy" guild administration lit up, minus the GM, the patron and like one protector.

Niara2005-08-26 21:17:40
Or me
Acrune2005-08-26 21:20:51
I would be a non-combatant, but I got tired of Celest getting flattened, so hopefully my helping is helping it get less flattened.

I'm not a combatant, either.
Unknown2005-08-26 22:36:37
Guido was a non-combatant.
