I disagree with the first statement, actually. Elfen/Merian lords have been balanced considerably. I'd actually say Merian Lords > brood viscanti at this time, as they have - I believe - 16 strength, 15 con and 14 dex, while viscanti have 16 strength, 16 con and 12 dex. So they suffer a slight trade-off in tankability, but they have a better surge and better wounding anyway, so in the long run they win out. And I'm not sure about elfen lords (and can't check, since the computer I'm on doesn't have ZMud) but I believe they have even higher dexterity, and suffer a lower con as a result.

And faelings have level 3 balance and insane dexterity, although their str/con leaves a little to be desired. Heh.
