As you can see below, the Night Avatars (and I assume the Moon Avatars) call out for help. This isn't fair given they already have so many other advantages (totems, guards, home territory, etc). I would like to strongly suggest this be removed as it makes them like impossible to kill.

You thrust your palm towards Gwyllgi, the Dog of Darkness and a burst of silver
light shoots out from it burning into Gwyllgi, the Dog of Darkness, who cries
out in pain.
Gwyllgi, the Dog of Darkness begins to yell for help.

Standing suddenly still, Gwyllgi, the Dog of Darkness bellows loudly, the
mixture of a shriek and a bark tearing the air and almost deafening you.

They have advantages, but they are also easier to get to, planar wise, in relation to other similar denizens.
Also, they aren't as strong are they? Or was that changed way back when?

I think that's reasonable, and I assume it would only be on the Shadowdancer aetherwave.
Narsrim2005-08-30 04:53:29
They shouldn't call out for help in the same way that the Demon Lords do not call out for help.

They can be guarded by totems/guards, though. Plus the whole archway thing. The Moon Avatars and Night Avatars are -far- harder to kill than the Supernals/Demon Lords. (And we lose less from it.)
Narsrim2005-08-30 04:54:16
Worst case scenario, no one is EVER going to kill a Moon Avatar. Heh
Shayle2005-08-30 04:55:12
It's the Blacktalon Aether.
And come on, Narsrim. Like you really need it to be any easier for you to kill things in Ethereal Glomdoring.

I'm bored Shayle, I cut down all your pretty mature trees for wood earlier. Give me something to do!

Wtf do the Blacktalon have to do with the Dog of Darkness?

What are you using to back your point up?
Shiri2005-08-30 04:58:24
It's been like that for ages. Shadowbound Fae call out on Night Spirit, which Blacktalon can hear. I seem to remember someone trying to justify this a while back, I can't remember why, but yes, misweave seems most likely.
EDIT: Awesome, he posted right above me.

Hnm fair enough.
And yeah, wtf is with the Blacktalon hearing cries for help from Night Avatars? It's clearly a Shadowdancer thing.

Common sense? A /Night/ Avatar calls out for help on the /Blacktalon/ aether? It makes no sense whatsoever.

What nejii said and duh.. Blacktalon = crow related. Shadowdancer = Night*related. Night avatars are loyal to night and all moon loyal cry out on Moondancer aetherwave. Its more obvious then anything... shouldnt need to back up my point

Synchronicity. The Moondancers hear the call from our Avatars, Shadowdancers should hear the call from theirs.
Unknown2005-08-30 05:01:27
Yeah, something has messed up somewhere.
Anyway, I like that they call for help - it means you don't need to have those awful patrols everyone hates. I see your point, but I'd rather there was some other way to make them comparable to the Demon Lords than turning off their yells.
I can't remember... are there any quests to kill/weaken the Avatars?

Nope.
