I can't remember... are there any quests to kill/weaken the Avatars?

Nah its pretty much RAWR DIE then they dead Been there done that
And I keep echoing Narsrim cause he posts while I'm posting
Narsrim2005-08-30 05:03:48
I've slain all three in the past. I assure that the Slaugh one is a complete bitch to fight with a totem at her and her insane bleeding.

I think they might have made it that way to give Glom a chance against Seren in the beginning, rather than it being a misweave. But yeah.. is it still necessary now? And do Moon Avatars cry for help?
Shikari2005-08-30 06:02:09
Hmm.
Not strictly pertaining to this issue, but there is something I do want to question.
Some things in game are hard, yes. Some things are easy.
Perhaps that is simply the way it is meant to be?

I think Nars is just bored and wants to kill something the Gloomies hold sacred now, seeing as he's just decimated the Mag's sence of Invincibility
Go start a Chess match with the Champion of one of the Glommie guilds, heh that'd be interesting to watch.
"Ugh you took my pawn, you fiend, Patchou attack!" *Patchou proceeds to eat some Gloomies*

It doesnt fit within the histories though so the logical thing would be to move it to the Shadowdancer aetherwave

Yes, that is fair enough. However, this thread was initially about how Night and Moon avatars call for help and make it impossible to kill them, and thus shouldn't call out for help.
That is one of the things I was referring to.
Eyod2005-08-30 08:56:35
I think them calling out is perfectly reasonable, it's a pain but thems the breaks.
Thorgal2005-08-30 11:42:58
Avatars, just like supernals and demon lords, aren't supposed to die to a single person, so uhh, get some back up, then you can gloat some more about your fantastic bashing adventures.. and don't forget to keep count!

Actually, Avatars are weak. They're simply group-soul of Redcaps/Slaugh/Barghest/Mothers/Maidens/Crones. At least, that's how I've always seen it. Something similiar to it, anyway. They aren't half-formed Elder Gods. They're just big mofo Nature Spirits. But, the difference is, half-formed can die, Nature Spirits, well, they can die, but it'd take complete and total devestation of Nature to kill 'em.

I don't think you can actually kill White Hart, unless you send Crow to do it.

Uhh, an avatar does apparently far more damage than a supernal or demon lord, so I don't really get how they're "weak". Don't think that "the way you see it" is very relevant. Fact is that Narsrim is complaining that he can't kill an avatar on his own, he wants to kill everything and everyone, if he can't, he complains.
There's two versions of overpowered apparently:
* I can't kill it.
* It can kill me.
If it meets either criteria, it's overpowered.

Oh, you noticed?
Unknown2005-08-30 15:36:28
Then these damn Serenguard novices are beyond overpowered. They're able to kill me in one hit.
Unknown2005-08-30 15:37:24
Okay, sarcasm and Narsrim's ego problems aside, I'm simply pointing out - it's been said Nature Spirits, even the greater ones, aren't really comparable to Supernals/Demonlords. S'all I'm saying.
