Quick Questions

Back to Common Grounds.

I have a few quick questions for everybody.

1) I'm going to have to restrict my playing from now on to the weekends, maybe for 2-3 hours a week. (I've been playing more to get to a certain "survival level") In asking this, is there a "peak time" for players during this time. If I'm going to limit my playing time for Tully, I want to do it when the most people are around. I know this is a global place and some people come on at different times, but are there any good highs and lows?

2) Do we ever know in advance if events are going to happen? I was just wondering for those of us who aren't as free with the "free time", I'd like to not miss the big stuff on the weekends if I can help it. I was wondering if they ever announce it in advance without giving details--(something big coming up this weekend, you may not want to go away).

Around midnight GMT seems to be primetime, really. Give or take ~2 hours.
Shamarah2005-09-01 01:25:25
Yeah, around midnight - 1 AM GMT would be a good time. (That's 8-9 PM EST.)

And no, they don't usually announce things like that, though it would be really nice if they would. They'd probably get a much bigger turnout; I know I'd make an effort to be online instead of playing a game.

Yep, those two are about right.

You know what I mean. Alright, then, I'd make an effort to be online instead of playing Halo or KOTOR or something.

I hope as Prince you aren't playing Halo. pirate.gif Arr, I change me vote.

Hey, I can't be on Lusty all the time. tongue.gif I mean, if I was, I'd just be sitting around idle most of the time.

Wouldn't it kind of defeat the point if we told you when events were going to happen?
Ceres2005-09-01 12:17:17
In some other game, they have this candle which lights and shows there's gonna be an event in the next 24 hours.

I don't see why it would...
It would remove some of the suprise, yes, but a lot of people would rather see an event and not be suprised, rather than miss all the events and be suprised (me?).
Unknown2005-09-01 12:51:10
If you keep if Vague enough Hajamin, just letting us know maybe the date of something important, it might be okay.

I think it's a balance. As gods, this is your full or part-time job. But since some of us are restricted by work, life, or school needs, we may want to get a general sense of when an event might happen just so we could be around, or plan our weekends or something. (Do I go to a movie tonite or logon? Do I do my weekend work on Saturday Morning or Saturday Evening?).

The surprise comes from what may happen, don't give details other than "something will be afoot". You could still have surprise events too.

There's no Tivo for Lusternia, unfortunately. (Other than logs, which aren't the same).
Hajamin2005-09-01 14:51:54
You having no idea when an event is coming, is half the point we work so hard at doing it.

Besides Myself, Roark, and Estarra all the other gods are just about the same as you. They are volenteers, so there are many times they can't be around aswell. Not to mention, sometimes we plan to have an event at X time, but minutes before we want to start it, something goes wrong and we have to set it aside for awhile(sometimes an hour, a day, a week... you never know).

I think that's him saying the new skill's not coming for a while. crying.gif

Okay. Maybe not. tongue.gif

That's his way of saying the event for the Druid skill is going to be held off for a week. crying.gif

Hajamin, he can be so wickedly subtle at times...
Ashteru2005-09-01 20:49:55
Nyaaargh...not the new skill....I want Puppeteerism already! sad.gif
Vix2005-09-02 00:00:15
I want events that are very unpredictable. The recent Library event with bookbinding was quite obvious in its purpose and I'd like to be surprised. smile.gif

Of course, I'd rather have the druid skill and libraries in than a completely random event.
Unknown2005-09-02 01:12:24
Like it begins with a bunch of rogue Faeling that ride on sandojins to explore the world beyond normal means and in the process of chasing them for information they run into some beautiful Trill (Who we're not sure what sex it is because of the amount of fluff on its body) who seems to have lost something very precious during the collision.

The Basin, of course, has to then find this object that appears to have been carried off when the hastily Faeling leave (Though we don't know this) and now its location(s) is more random and awkward than before. Blah blah.. find the object, catch the Faeling.. and.. no new skill or libraries!

I got lazy. ninja.gif
