Can we have something for riding that encourages another horse or steed of a lesser strength to go in the desired direction? And can we have an ability in survival that lets you carry people? It could serve as anything in the realms, from romantic thingy, towards carrying a comrade out of a battle...
encourage (steed) (direction)
Your steed encourages another steed to move in the desired direction if they are weaker than you.
carry (player)
drop (player)
You can carry desired player. If he or she moves, does anything but speak, they will be dropped at the risk of broken bones.

No offense but I don't see a point to it. If you can use the lesser steads as transportation of items w/o mail then maybe. Maybe even if they just carried some items for you.

I don't see how carrying people would help either, especially if you drop them then they'd break their bones. thats never fun.

I think the only time dropping breaks bones is if they "struggle" - ie anything that takes balance/eq.

Carrying an asthmaed/anorexiaed/paralized/impatiant person away from battle?

...all I can say is, if this was in.. Yrael would be kidnapping and molesting far too many people in some dark secret corner

Aye. I like the idea though. No necessarily because I think it'd be the uber useful skill +1, but because it'd be nice for roleplay and -makes sense-. (Why should a burly Tae'Dae NOT be able to carry one of those furries?)
Also, I'd like to see an ability in riding that makes it possible to mount more than one person on a mount of sufficient size, provided all of them are able to mount animals of that level.
And in connection with that, maybe a fairly advanced ability that allows you to help other people mount the steed you're on, making it easier for them and thus possible to mount even if their riding skill would not allow them to mount steeds of that level on their own? Maybe provided they are able to mount at least light horses...

I agree... also if possible allow smaller races to ride on the larger race's backs and such... A faeling, for example, on top of a taurian... It could serve for defensive reasons, ie faeling mage, and the taurian something else... interesting to possibly see... And if a faeling tries to carry someone heavier, the would get squashed...
What races is Yrael? and what is his size?

Yrael's viscanti. So size 13.
Ceres2005-09-03 16:28:37
Yrael (Male Mugwump).
Unknown2005-09-03 16:46:02
Changed then...he was viscanti last time I looked. *shrug*
Which, by the way, makes him size 12.

how about this. You can carry everyone your size and lower, but if you carry someone more than that, you have a risk of breaking your bones, and if you are under influence of a certain strength boost, and you carry someone far larger than you and it wears off, you will have your lungs collapsed.. Who you can carry or what is determined by your strength as well as your size.
