Overpowered skill ideas.

Got any skill/artifact ideas that are too powerfull/unstopable/just plain cheap
to seriously suggest? Put 'em here! Who knows, some of these may even turn out to not be so bad, with some tweaking.

For instance, what if there was a room that dreamweavers could use that would either cut down on the willpower drain if you left your body in that room, or perhaps allow you to make dream motes for a cheaper power cost if you made them in that room? Of course there's a million and six reasons it probably won't be implemented, but still biggrin.gif

Or how about the dreamweavers version of a Powerstone? Like, it allows you to craft 15 motes woth no drain from your reserves, or maybe dreamweave for a few minutes willpower-free... perhaps it would be an artifact, or an item from an existing tradeskill, or whatever.

Another cool idea would be a skill that allows dreamweavers to see what was going on in the room they left their bodies, perhaps at a 10 second equilibrium cost, or a willpower drain. Of course, if this were to ever come out, the next thing people would clamour for is a way to remotely move their bodies. Granted, this would probably overpower dreamweavers, as their main weakness is to leave their bodies vulnerable, but it still sounds cool on paper smile.gif

Well, those are my ideas to, as stated before, take a perfectly good skill and overpower it. Anybody else got some?

LATER EDIT: Yes, I know I'm obsessed with dreamweaving.

A skill that lets us unban Guido.

Duuhuuude, he said overpowered, not in-goddamn-sane.

I say new artifact runes. 2000 credits. Convert 50% of your sword/blunt/axe damage to unstoppable damage. Can have.. uh.. four on each weapon. Eight if it's two handed.

Well, as to the watching what happens, I doubt it's really possible, because your conciousness isn't there. Nothing to do with overpowered underpowered (if you can't manage to kill most dreamweavers during the bodysnap eq, you're just pathetic), just the RP aspect.

Overpowered artifacts? Hmm. Artifacts that cut endurance/willpower drain. happy.gif + stat artifacts are gross and I hate them, and Lusternia seems designed so that we don't need them, and if they would come in, they'd be really unbalanced.

Although, hmm. I want a skill that turns people into shrubs when they're at half mana. And we just have to MULCH SHRUB. biggrin.gif

Well thats why it would take a lot of equilibrium, it'd kinda be like mini-bodysnap. You know, you send part of your conciousness through the link to your body and see whats happening, or even give yourself simple commands like you would with a mob you're controlling... (heh, like keeping yourself as a pet)

How about a skill which stops you from losing exp when you die.. say, as a soul you can move around for 20 seconds and then you reform with no loss. Rofl, talk about overpowered. Rofl. You'd NEVER lose any exp. Heh!

For one credit be able to zap anyone including other gods.

For 5,000 credits be immune to all types of zaps.
Murphy2005-09-01 23:37:44
yeh i was gonna say, an artifact of the divine zappage

Artifact Shield -- 95% chance of absorbing entirely any physical blow struck against you. Whee I could tank Murphy with that quickexit.gif

Well I guess this topic has gone from cool but impractical ideas, to just plain stupidness... What about a skill in High/Lowmagic that lets you simultaniously scry all your enemies, no matter what plane they're on? Or modify it so its like a homing beacon you can put on anyone and then find and/or teleport to them from wherever?

EDIT: alright, "stupidness" was a bit harsh, I just hate to see mthread degenerate into

"unstoppable sword: kill anyone in one hit"
"unbreakable shield: be immortal"

Is that so wrong? dunno.gif

Actually not immortal. Just overpowering an existing IRE shield. Which is what Athana was mentioning.

You asked for overpowered. Next time be a bit more specific if you're going to be pissy. tongue.gif
lume2005-09-01 23:58:04
I can be pissy if I want too.
Acrune2005-09-02 00:52:13
I think if something was attempted to view what was going on around the body, you'd get similar problems that arena watch has caused in the past.
Yrael2005-09-02 02:36:08
Torture not requiring binding to work, only using 3 seconds of equi.

Sylphas2005-09-02 02:49:16
Instant roll, and stat artifacts.
Yrael2005-09-02 02:52:04
You mean it isn't instant already? Pffft. Oh, and while we're at it, an artifact to brick up Amaru's orifices so he can't speak. Or breathe.
Ialie2005-09-02 02:57:56
I would like to change races more than once a game month.
