How far

I was just wondering because I've been thinking a lot about a Lusternia meet.. but how far would you guys be willing to drive/fly/whatever for one? I know a lot of people aren't willing to drive all the way to Mississippi, so I was pondering some sort of place where we could have it and everyone could come if they wanted to. I, of course, will not be able to go until I graduate, because my parents would freak out on me for trying to go on a trip by myself. sad.gif but.. I like to plan things ahead and I think a year is pretty censor.gif ahead.

It's not just distance, it's where everyone lives, too. My home is probably the geographic center of the entire English-speaking world, but I don't expect many people to actually hitch a ride to Nebraska to get together (for you foreigners, it's the state near the middle of the US, three down from the north, has a short but thick handle on the west side).

I really don't know how far I'd go, but.. what would we do? ninja.gif I think that'd help out my distance decision.

blink.gif What do you mean, what would we do??

Hopefully it'd be around 10 people, so we would be out together shopping, sightseeing, ect. For some odd reason I want to see the Divines play DDR. tongue.gif

Nothing nauuuughty. I mean like.. what will the events be? I wouldn't want to get there and be disappointed because we're all like.. on the wall and not interacting or anything.

Not asking for some big, planned schedule either, but if people are flying out somewhere then we should need something available either in the area or something we're providing. happy.gif

yeah.. when I first read that I was seriously thinking if you thought I made a thread about hooking up with people. If we didn't interact I would be so pissed off.. though I expect if all of us got together it'd be insane.

I think if we went to some semi-large town there would be plenty to do. I've already told Sylphas I'm dragging him off to this place in the mountains and taking me to the aquarium.. and to this amusement park nearby.. and shopping.. wub.gif

I'd plan a holiday somewhere nice if there was a meet organised.

smile.gif

I think a general IRE playerbase meet somewhere would be nice. Then we could have an actual /quiz/, some LARP fights (OI DIE DAMNIT I STORMHAMMERED YOU WITH 20 INT AND COLLAR, or my favourite: DAMNIT TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF MY CHEST I DONT CARE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO REMOVE MY HEART TO KILL ME) and general debate on the different MUDs. tongue.gif

I'd love to LARP (Even though I've never done it. Closest thing was playing with a friend's Star Wars lightsabers, breaking them during the fight and lying about how they got that way), but I rarely play any other muds. I think my first was Materia Magic or something.. and then my friend told me about Achaea. I've been doing IRE since then (Like.. 5 years off and on?).

I'm not really a big fantasy guy or anything. I swear the last "fun" book I've read was in the 6th grade (College Sophomore now) even though I've read a lot since then (Never even touched Harry Potter ninja.gif), but I do love gaming to the point where I'm learning to program (Along with double majoring in Japanese Language for business travel purposes).

I love to roleplay and such, but away from Lusternia I'm just Michael. Makes me wonder what would happen if we all got together though! ...Even though I do have like 5 people in my area and only one who has shown interest in a meet.

Washington state. The telephone shaped island in the middle of the water above Seattle. Arlent and I live in my town, Olan is two hours south, and Saikado is in the middle.

Depends on when, who's hosting, and how much money I have.

I'd totally go to Hawaii with you, Bau and Marina though, Joli. tongue.gif

Mmm.. getting sick during a poi eating contest.

"You can do it, Marc!"
"Dude, I don't think he's conscious..."
"Damn it, I'm sick of your excuses!

As long as I can find me a nice sandwich I'm game. Oh, and uh.. somewhere to sleep.. with a pillow or two.

Hawaii is the key to this solution. For 99 bucks you can get a standby ticket out there. Illllll bee hooommmeee for chrristmas........

So everyone, Maui is the meet, 108 Kaanapali drive is where you can all stay. well, the porch outside at least. But Joli, you can have the rug.

And for all you IRE mud hoppers out there.,, hawaii is the home of Tuek, Xargo, Zagreus, Diamante, Hagakure, Dryesias, erm, some other peeps I cant remember.

Dooo eet\\

On a side note. Im in california now, Ill drive up to and including colorado ish for a meet. Ill bring a guitar, my laptop, and well, this 6'2 green eyed brown hair hunk of luv .
Gregori2005-09-02 08:34:49
I would travel roughly... 9875.0 miles(15892.0 km)... I will let you ponder on where and who I would travel that distance to meet however.
Shiri2005-09-02 08:36:50
I could travel around Britain...maybe. With difficulty. :/
