Warriors will have to adjust their guilds heavily now. It's close to abandoning their roleplay entirely.

If working 20+ hours a day involves destroying multiple hours of work put in by your players... perhaps you shouldn't. I realize this is harsh, but it's how I feel at this moment.

You know what, that arguement was stupid THE FIRST TIME IT WAS USED. Yes, Faelings were destroyed by the change made to them. Just as you are so destroyed by this.

Dude, you guys.
The mage guilds in Achaea had the EXACT SAME SKILLS and they were VERY DIFFERNT.
The same can be said for the serpent guilds and the monk guilds, amongst others.
It's entirely possible to roleplay without certain skills. The skills do not define your roleplay, YOU DO. Nothing you've done is destroyed.

"Hey, our guild's based on following the spirits. You can earn favours from them, you can follow them, devote yourself to them, ask their aid to advance through the guild."
"Oh. I don't follow the spirits of Glomdoring."
"... okay, well, you really should. Otherwise there's not much point in being in a guild DEVOTED TO THEM!"

I agree with Hajamin.
It's not very cool that new material is outright looked on as junk, at the get go.
So far the only thread on this is how it's messed up.
I'd trust the creators of the whole environment to have a degree of talent and understanding as to what the general roleplayed realm is supposed to be.
I know it's human nature to bitch about things more readily than say thanks, but the latter goes a lot farther than the former.
So anyway, thanks.
Edit: Typo.

Guys, Hajamin has his hand wrapped around the power cord, and he's about to unplug the server.

How? What have we done that's forced you to do anything? If you're angry that you can't have both Totems and Hunting... well you can't have both Totems and Illusions either, are you going to complain about that too?
I have said, this is part of the overall design for warriors. Besides that, you're always saying we're so nasty to rogues... maybe now a warrior could survive as a rogue.
Silvenae2005-09-03 03:38:17
If your novices or guildmembers or whatever are claiming they're not devoted to whatever spirit you worship, then there's this magic thing you can do to them to rectify that.
It's called outguilding them!

Torak2005-09-03 03:38:52
Wow, what a piss poor reaction from most players.. Really, you aren't being forced to take hunting, its a RP descion. Grow up and be grateful they are expanding on Lusternia still. Everytime something is released its a majour fest from a bunch of ingrates. Build your RP around these new aspects.

No, I am more upset that now if I want to keep my guild dedicated to the RP we've been working to set up, I have to start policing people's skills and try to encourage them to not select one of their brand new choices. Before this, I've been able to say "Okay, pick things which you feel most suit you," to try and allow each person to be individual.
Or I can just scrap it all.
Either way, it's a waste of a lot of time.

Well, and you have to change the warden test. Now we can't ask them if their life is going to night or crow.
Love the skillsets though!

Oh, that's true. They can't pass the warden test.
Nobody who picks hunting can get to GR5

What the ? You don't need Rituals or Totems to praise or appreciate a Great Spirit or something. Sure, you might not be able to Lich or Nightkiss/Crowform, but damn.. it's about the ideals and the roleplay!
It's like saying a pooka can't force someone to choke themselves in-role because it isn't a game command. roleplay it.

Hi, I dedicated myself to this Greater Spirit, but I wasn't able to actually dedicate myself, y'know? 'Cause I wanted to learn hunting instead... so, uh, really, I swear I am devoted to the spirits! Honestly!
Edit: Thanks for pointing out the announce.

Read it, but I'm still wandering why the commune warriors were able to learn the skillset, when the hunters both hate the communes. What would have happened if the tigers weren't slain?

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know you needed a giant barrel or a cape of feathers to demonstrate your loyalty. Tully is a prime example of this. The guy doesn't go

And say "Oh, now I can roleplay a janitor!" If your character demonstrates their love for something then it's there despite whatever skill they have. Syrel doesn't say "Damn! I'm not in Lacostian's Order so I'm not going to follow His teachings. Maybe when I'm in I'll do as He says."

Correct. Think of it this way. There are two main branches in all warrior guilds: the mystic warrior and the more mundane warrior. Both paths have their benefits and weaknesses and probably the mystic warriors should be considered more of the guides. It goes without saying that mundane warrior are common can be found anywhere while the mystic warriors are the guild elite.

Does he have the option of choosing sanitation? I mean, if I roleplay being able to use sacraments and being able to call down Inquisition, Heretic, and Infidel on people... they're going to start frothing, eh?
It's a lot like a nihilist choosing tarot, and then roleplaying that they're a dreamweaver. It doesn't really work, in my opinion at least.
Edit: Well, switched mage to nihilist- mages can't pick tarot
