Back to Common Grounds.

You cannot enlarge your own loyals, nor influence them. So that 5 power is not applicable to our bonds. They can't be made any stronger than they are now.

To be honest, any skill like lich is going to alter the dynamics considerably. I ran into enemy Stewartsville messing around with forest just because I knew that I could die without loss. Druids are going to be able to raid with the same impugnity that liches did. Especially because they can set up (what used to be) powerful demesnes, that is a worry in balance terms. Our version of the resurrection skill is more expensive and limiting, and it has no benefits like an undead state does, but it is slightly more helpful in getting away quickly. Seems roughly even.

But anyway, Magnagora has had it for a while, let Serenwilde and Glomdoring have a go with it.

And once again, yay for Inquisition. Lichdom? Transmigrate? No problem.

Not feeling neglected are you?
Revan2005-09-04 01:21:05
The smudge skills look pretty nice. I'll revoke my previous assessment of the skill. It's pretty herb heavy, however, I think it does give druids a nice boost to their already powerful offense. The charms are pretty nice too... I'm thinking biofeedback/psiarmour equivalents?

Unite looks interesting; Diamante and I already talked about the amazing spy potential of these bonded pets (at least for Trackers). The wormholes look like a problem though, considering the raid-hungry people out there. Is there a way to unmake wormholes?

Psiarmour is more like it, but we can only make it on percentages - we could run 50/50 cutting/blunt, or 10/90 cutting/lightning, or 100% lightning, or whatever. But nothing like Biofeedback.

PATHWAYS (WORMHOLES ARE NOT IN LUSTERNIA!! >:O >:O ) are cool, but they can only be used by people with the Hunting skillset, so far. And I hope it remains like this, too. They can only be made by ecologists, take 10 power, 2,000 ego, (ego burnout is a bizzinitch, too!), and the same amount of time as a rift.

And, no, we've no way to destroy them, as of yet.
Unknown2005-09-04 01:28:23
And unite is area-only. It's basically a druid version of moonbeam, where we can only go to one target.
Revan2005-09-04 01:30:25
2k ego you say? Pray that an enemy telepath never wanders by while you're making a pathway.
Kayde2005-09-04 01:55:00
Does percieve or survey show that a pathway exists? Maybe add a high-level environment skill to get rid of pathways, or a planar skill. I don't exactly how pathways are formed and what exactly they are ment to be. Are the like rifts or like actual dirt paths?

Is there any restriction on where pathways can be made, like rifts have to be from adjacent planes only, etc.
Unknown2005-09-04 01:55:47
Maybe they're like ley lines.
Unknown2005-09-04 01:55:51
You're all overpowered.

That's what ego regen is for. And obviously you're not going to be making one while an enemy is right near.
Unknown2005-09-04 02:14:06
Also, as far as I've been able to tell, they work ONLY in forest (and I imagine tainted forest for Glom). Which makes them nothing terribly much to worry about.
Unknown2005-09-04 02:16:52
What? Pathways? No. Kalodan set one up for Celest. It just has to be the same terrain.
Kayde2005-09-04 02:19:02
So basically they're just like a quickwalk in a forest? That's not bad at all. Could even be kinda useful in Glom and Seren, considering how easily it is to get lost in those forests if you don't know your way around.

One question though, if a hunter uses it, can people who are following him/her go through/down it as well, or does it leave behind your entorage?

Would be interesting for raids/defence if you could take groups with you, especially for the druids.

edit: so it just restricted by terrain? is it restricted by distance?
Munsia2005-09-04 02:23:49
or not *eyeshift*
Ive been seeing pathways on ql....

What sort of terrain? River, road, elemental plane was all unnatural environments.
Ashteru2005-09-04 02:38:24
Beach worked.
Unknown2005-09-04 03:14:33
Natural meaning what it is. As in, I can't forest a room, and make a pathway to another forested room. Even if one is naturally forest, and the other isn't, but I forceforested.

They're quite nice, really.
Sylphas2005-09-04 03:43:17
Entourage does follow through paths.
Unknown2005-09-04 05:09:05
Yea, players and mobs.
