Back to Common Grounds.

It could also be an average of 4 afflictions every 3 seconds at mugwump speed, if the person uses the bezerk mode of his fetish (for the low cost of 1 power per use). The range could be from 0 to 6 in that 3-second period for me. The average player will probably experience affliction rates more on the upper end of that range though. The average player does not have transcendent resilience like you and me.

The average player probably doesn't have fully powered fetish either.
Shamarah2005-09-06 16:42:18
Nars, you can't puncture someone who has blackout.

Right, but once you have someone sapped and you are trying to keep them down, curing puncture is not a priority.
Shamarah2005-09-06 16:44:48
It sounded like you were saying that someone had punctured you while you were blackouted. Meh.

But once punctured, you can give them affliction while they are blacked out.

Yes, but it is trivial curing the puncture affliction. It is a delayed cure if one eats reishi, but it still only gives the attacker one chance to cast a mote. Also, more druids will have a fully realized fetish, compared to them having transcendent resilience. Remember Ecology is guild skill-set, while resilience is not.

In any case, my entire point was that there are combinations of afflictions that when present with sap make it really nasty to cure.

The fetish is fast, but I still don't see how it makes it so easy to kill a target specifically with sap because fetish or not fetish, it is still a complete pain to get someone in trees long enough to sap with a good setup to keep them sapped.

My point is I was showing an easy means of how the fetish can be very effective alongside the use of sap. The speed is extremely fast; nothing else in the realm has that sort of speed (Hexes require drawing and then pushing). If you are saying having an item that is capable giving the 4 afflictions before a person recovers one herb balance is not overpowering, then we will just have to continue to disagree on this point. It is not the first, and I can bet it will not be the last.

That's the thing, I don't see how they are giving 4 afflictions in one herb balance. Even if they were using charbydon, you have to factor in that some of the afflictions are cured with herbs, others purgatives, others smoking, etc.

You also have to consider that charbydon can give all afflictions that require herb cures. It is still has the possibility of giving four afflictions before I regain one herb balance or drink balance. Makes me want to go druid just to show how effectively it could be used.

Go Hartstone, I don't believe you *plots to steal Geb from Celest*
Xenthos2005-09-06 17:51:42
You need to lose the last half of that sentence, Narsrim, or he'll end up in the Blacktalon. wink.gif

Since when did the Blacktalon start gaining new members? I thought they were still in the process of kicking people out or being kicked out by because they pissed off Viravain
Narsrim2005-09-06 17:56:11
Besides, Geb sees potential. Pathtwist has far more of it than spiders. I want to go Hartstone just once so when someone raids a village, I can eject them into a totem and guards 200 rooms away *drool*
Thorgal2005-09-06 18:39:20
Obviously Narsrim is completely unable|unwilling to see the potential of a skill like fetish untill it is used against him, and needs to get it downgraded it in order to be able to deal with it.

Also, first you people keep using the "not everyone has sap" or "not everyone has a full fetish", and then you use the 33% shrugging of trans resilience, which is a common skill, as an argument?

The only person who had to leave was Yukari so I dont know WTF that came from.
Bau2005-09-06 18:54:30
Apparently Vira's making things a bit hard on a few others, as well. But these things happen.
