Just as a reminder. Ye of Little Faith is co-mod, not a player. His tips are as good as mine. smile.gif And he will be helping with vote counts and death scenes. pureevil.gif

You may ask me to Mod Prod players who haven't posted for 48 hours if you need to hear from them. I will not send prods unless they have been absent for that long though, so don't ask otherwise.

Ok, I'm back now everyone. And just to prevent death-by-irrational-decision, I did indeed tell Rhayni that I would be absent before I left and how long it would take. I'm not going to be inactive any longer so don't view this as a reason to lynch me. nonono.gif

I'm going to to vote No Lynch this time. I think that since we are almost certain to hit a Pure one it would not behoove us to lynch someone on the first day. I want to wait and see who dies next and start voting tomorrow. I'm going to go back and read through the thread again and I might change my vote though.

Hmm. Good point Requium.

Vote No Lynch
Narsrim2005-09-05 22:36:56
As Tsuki has said, we are better off at this point to vote against someone instead of no lynching. Please read her post.

QUOTE(Tsuki @ Sep 4 2005, 05:59 PM)
As is already obvious, I'll still mention that the first day (or two, in some cases) is generally always random. Whoever is lynched tends to end up being an Elder in the end, unless pure luck strikes and we hit a Soulless. In the past, I've personally thought it best to vote against someone rather than no one. Voting for no one is inaction, the Soulless know who they are and will not be inactive in targetting anyone not of them. Inaction on our part gives them absolute free rein to continue, whereas by taking action and voting we at least have a chance to work against them.

I'm quite able to go back to her post, thanks Narsrim tongue.gif

*grin* And I stay with my choice...voting against someone without having any clue as to what's going on is....rather rash in my eyes.

But then I tend to stop and .. you know... that whole "Think" thing first *sparkle*

Action > Inaction with thinking.
Unknown2005-09-05 23:01:45
The way I see it, if we kill the wrong person, then the Soulless have killed three people in this 24 hour period. If we wait then they only kill two(?) Perhaps only one; I'm not certain what the deal with Fain was, since he seemed to have randomly keeled over.

Usually on the second day people start to have some idea what's going on and we can more intelligently kill off ourselves.

Edit: Action with thinking > action without thinking > inaction with thinking. Actively choosing not to kill someone is an action. The only inactive stance is not to vote at all.

Mis post.
Revan2005-09-06 00:22:20
Hmm, Req makes a good point. We really have NO information to go by, and that in the long run will help us through this. I'll change my vote to

unvote requiem dot exe

vote No lynch
Shiri2005-09-06 01:28:47
Hm. I don't like this no lynching policy. What are we going to learn tonight that we didn't learn last night? Very little that I can think of. Then again, I don't know the game setup, so we might have more seers or otherwise useful people on our side here. I'm with Narsrim in that action is important though. And since I still have no real idea whether to vote against Revan or RDE, I'm going with RDE since I already voted him and I still don't know who he is in game. dry.gif
Unknown2005-09-06 01:39:52
There's a reason you don't know who I am in-game; I like to be able to say whatever I want without fear of IG repercussions. Your character probably wouldn't like me, but we never interact in game so it wouldn't tell you much anyway.
Sylphas2005-09-06 01:43:32
I still see no reason to vote for anyone. We have no real information. I'm not going to vote until we have something more solid than guesswork.
Unknown2005-09-06 01:45:55
Grr. I tried to edit this into my last post but Sylphas posted before I could.

I want to point a FoS at Xenthos because he's been Soulless in every other game thus far, and I want to hear him say something in his defense. I'm still voting No Lynch, I just want to 'hear' from Xenthos.
Tsuki2005-09-06 02:14:32
If you're waiting for evidence, I can't see how it would be anything other than a long wait, giving the Soulless free reign in the meantime. The proscription against speaking outside of this thread (rule 2: "There will be no discussion outside of this thread, except at night, and only those whose roles say they can discuss at night can and only with those their role states they can talk with.") indicates to me that if we do have another Scrier, and if they do discover an Elder, the Scrier can't contact them to say so and prove their own role. If we do have another Scrier, they would be foolish to state the results of any findings until they've amassed a significant number of them to announce to us all at once, since after they've revealed themselves they'd be a target for the Soulless.

Also, let me draw your attention to the results of the first night, where the book by the Scrier's body stated that the Traitor was Pure ... and the Traitor was not. Even without knowing the specifics of the Scrier's capabilities, those facts still demonstrate that the Scrier's findings could be unreliable. How devastating would it have been if the Traitor had not also died, and we viewed Fain as Pure and worked together, when the Traitor works on behalf of the Soulless?

Waiting for so-called evidence and proof is being a sheep, hoping that the shepherd you can trust will be the first to arrive instead of a wolf disguised as the shepherd.
Sylphas2005-09-06 02:40:26
I believe that simply means that he was not Soulless, which is confirmed by him being slain. I don't believe the Soulless knew him, or they would not have targetted him.

And who are you to talk of sheep, when you all are voting for people simply because others have done so?
Tsuki2005-09-06 02:49:38
Or, y'know, we could be voting because we've considered the benefits and disadvantages of voting or not voting, decided voting is a better option, and chosen someone to vote against.

Better a sheep that tries to do something than a sheep who waits.

You heard from me earlier. wink.gif Anyways, odds of me being Soulless *again* are... well, the same as the odds of any of you being soulless for this game. It's a little hard to actually prove otherwise, so you'll just have to take the tone of my posts, try to compare them to games when I was Soulless (if that's allowed?), and draw your own conclusions from there.

Anyhow, I am going to proceed to vote for Revan. Voting not to do anything is, as has been said, not going to help. If we're losing two people a night, we just don't have the time to waste around doing nothing, and we aren't going to learn a whole lot more in one night unless someone wants to step out- and remember, some games we have gone a few days before there was really any lead. Don't think we can afford that chance.
Unknown2005-09-06 05:27:27
That's 5 for Revan, 1 for Requiem, and 3 for a No Lynch. Unless I miscounted?
Shiri2005-09-06 05:34:03
May as well secure a lynching then, better to have one than not. Vote for Revan. (I hope I can do that. I can't be bothered to go back and check. >_>)
