The supplicants and spikes quests.

No, it's not the power, that I perceive as an issue caused by the bug (which as been addressed, and the issue doesn't necessarily need to be addressed), but the fact that Celest has a 'bugged' conflict negator/accesory, means that they have an unfair advantage, notably, in this situation, considering Celest's... situation, then it's fair enough.
Tsakar2005-09-09 11:51:19
What Nayl said, with the bug Celest can stand to go otherwordly weeks without worry of loosing their star if they lost their supernals or the gorgog rift stayed open the whole time. However the necromentate would be in very real danger of being lost in the same situation in a much shorter amount of time. Power gained is really the least of what the discussed problem is

Grass is always greener, right Magnagora?

Not really. Celest pretty much blows in all other aspects. No villages, barely any good fighters...

Anyway, if it hasn't been already, I'd suggest that the number of Supplicants be halved. I don't really give a damn how many they've got, as long as they were obtained fairly. And for the record, I'd say exactly the same thing if Magnagora was getting twice the amount of spikes.

Most of us. Or are you implying that because a few of the citizens were stupid and abused that negative gold bug we are all cheating bastards with no sense of morals and of what is right, especially in an OOC context?

Subj: Major Bug Exploit Uncovered

Today, we have shrubbed literally dozens of characters (though many of
whom were alts of each other) for finding and exploiting a major bug.
The culprit turned out to be an entire clan, one called the Clan of
Petals of the Lotus Pod. This scheme generated millions of gold
sovereigns which were then used to buy out the credit market and thus
credits were transferred among players and their alts. Those clan
members who were recipients of the gold have all been shrubbed, along
with their alts, credits have been either removed from the characters or
subtracted in lessons proportional to what they purchased off the credit
market, and the clan has been destroyed.

Not only was exploiting this bug and destroying the credit market not
enough, during our investigation I found out that many players were
aware of this exploit and decided simply to turn a blind eye.
I was so
outraged that I was tempted to shrub everyone who knew of these
shenanigans and were culpable through not reporting it, but realized I
would have ended up shrubbing half of Magnagora.

Let me emphasize the seriousness of not reporting major bugs or
exploits. If this had not been nipped in the bud, gold in the tens of
millions (if not hundreds of millions) could have flowed into the
economy and the select few who were benefitting from it would have
continued to soak up every credit put up for sale. Further, as I'm sure
you can imagine, the economy would have been devastated. Thus, I am
extremely disappointed that this major exploit wasn't immediately
reported.

Finally, if you think this doesn't impact you even if you weren't aware
of it, let me tell you that coding came to a complete hault for quite
some time in order for us to track this down. I really wanted to get
libraries released this weekend as well as release a skillset to a
certain group who may feel neglected before the credit sale ends.
Because of the time we wasted in dealing with this exploit, it looks
rather grim that anything will be released on time.

To answer your question Asarnil, I think 'many' are.

I'm more curious as to how many Magnagorans would be complaining if they thought their quest was easier. rolleyes.gif
Asarnil2005-09-09 20:57:40
18 characters in the Petals of the Lotus Pod were shrubbed, and most of them were probably alts for Marcalo and Kayde. The only significant Magnagorans shrubbed were Marcalo, Kayde, Revan and Athana - and I very much doubt the list of people who "knew but paid a blind eye" were as extensive as Estarra's claims, because I was probably on that list - and all I knew was in the two seconds as I logged on to check news was that I had my clan dues forgiven.

How many Magnagoran's freely admit that even though the quest is harder, it still provides the single best bashing ground for Magnagorans L20-70.

I hate how people tend to take the actions of a few, and brand the majority of the city with a "bastard" stick.

I doubt we'd complain, but I believe most of us would admit it, if the other side came up with valid facts supporting that argument.

Well, being one of those 'horrible' people that abused that clan bug, I would have certainly expected and even suggested (as I did at the begining of this thread) that the number of spikes be halved if it was the spike quest that was bugged. Even though that really doesn't matter in the least, since it WAS the supplicant quest that was bugged from the begining of the game aparently, and the suplicants SHOULD be halved, if they haven't already been. Otherwise you are no better that I or my clan-mates that you bash for abusing a bug in-game.

You want to point fingers, yet you want to keep the rewards of a bug-abuse as well. Pot calling the kettle black here?

Multiple Celestians on this thread have said they think it's fair that it be halved. We can't force that to happen though. It's up to Estarra et al.

Except they didn't use it to single-handedly ruin the credit market, or abused it purposefully. <3

And, it can't be the pot calling the kettle black - it's more like the dish scrub calling the kettle black.

Sure sure, you keep thinking you know our motives or purposes. You don't, by the way. And the credit market actually prospered from it, made the prices go down so more people could buy credits. Such ruin!! ohmy.gif Seriously, just shut up about things you have absolutely ZERO clue or information about except your own misguided and idiotic speculation.

How idiotic do you think people are? Your motives or purposes? How about you were all greedy and stupid? Somehow I doubt you were thinking that this was going to be helpful to anyone but yourselves when you knowingly abused such an obvious bug. Stop trying to win any sort of reprieve for yourself and get on with your life away from Lusternia.
