You never have to rely on OOC money for credits, Aesyra got omnitrans without ever paying $ for credits, I'm stacked with arties and nearly omnitrans as well, I transfer my greatrunes from one sword to another just because I can, then there's Kaervas, Eiru, etc..

Actually I believe Aesyra bought the lowest amount(40 I think) just to get the never-delete flag customers have. Those that have bought credits, cannot scuicide or be deleted for inactivity. Those that haven't, can be deleted after EXTREME inactivity(like over a year I think).

It is possible. Plus Bardic/Artisanal are a good way to get credits, Guides(when we open up for applications) get paid well. Same with mortal coders/builders(again when we ask for them) get paid very well in credits.

Mages and druids are the least tanky of any archetype, and we have no head protection.

Well, I would say that obviously, if a druid is, as you say, impossible to kill in their demesne, and is able to kill you, then what else do you need to be a top fighter?

A top combatant is someone who is able to learn from a combat situation and improve in such a manner that he or she is unlikely to die in the same situation again or has developed a techique to keep said situation at bay.

In a previous post, you said that sap was all one needed to kill. While sap is useful, it works exactly like aeon. Aeon is worthless against people who can cure it and amazing against someone who cannot.

I have no problem healing sap. There have been a couple time when it was a close call, but if you just continually tumble away from a druid and work on healing it in the process, you should never die to it.
