Same here. Never higher than novice aide before, and I was only gr6 because I managed to catch 3 waves of promotion.
Shiri2005-09-06 02:54:52
I was really proud of my GR5 way back when. Heh. CR6, seneschal, secretary, security and highest non-elected GR is a nice change.

It's nice, but I'm looking forward to when I can start ignoring all the crap again and just do what I want without all the damned work.

Give me the job and I'll show you how to do it. Delegate all the work to my secs and lean back and enjoy the credits...

Yup, and I'm looking forward to having a huge family with little bunny squirrels.

Don't really want to flame anyone, or get into an OOC rant here, but I've never met a Wiccan in person I could stand. Nothing against the concept of Wicca, just the people I've met who claim to follow it. Not a single one even knew or followed the Wiccan Rede. They were like magickal script kiddies. "im so cools at magick i can do all sorts of stuff! im just that awesome! Look, watch me burn away your aura! Did you see? im so awesome!" that sort of thing. As a whole, they just seemed like a direct insult to everything I've ever believed, and a mockery of things they did not understand. Just a bunch of kids trying to make themselves out to be more powerful than they are, so they can gloat about it, and they are those who play around with that which is not to be played around with. I find their attitude and actions to be stupid, arrogant, and often dangerous.
Gwylifar2005-09-06 03:59:06
My Lusternia character was the same as my Aetolia character in two main areas: that he was very loyal and dedicated because I like that in a long-term character, and that he was a forestal because one of the things about Aetolia that was most frustrating is that forestals got the shaft in everything, but Lusternia promised to even things up, so I'd get to do the stuff I never got to do there. In all other ways, he was designed to be the opposite.

I entirely get where you're coming from. But I bet you've met lots of Wiccans you got along fine with. They were just the ones that didn't make a fuss about it so you probably never even found out that's what they were. It's the ones who wear it like a badge of pride that are usually completely out of tune with what it is -- just like with almost everything else like that.

I've met so many people like that.. I assure you anyone that claims they can "burn your aura" isn't a Wiccan.. but very stupid. There is this entire group of people that claim to be aethists/wiccans at my school and they all think they can talk to ghosts and curse people. It sickens me.. a lot. I'm not even sure if I count as one yet, because I haven't joined a coven, so I'm not about to start ranting or bragging about it. Maybe when I get older I'll be able to practice it..
Oh.. and it is very dangerous to mess with.. even if you hate the person.. please please.. do not curse/hex/anything negative to the person. It really does come back 3 times as bad.
Suhnaye2005-09-06 05:44:24
I've had a few characters in Achaea and one in Imperian, my Imperian one came after Lusternia though. In Achaea I had a GR3 Monk, and a GR4 Sentinel... Neither of which ever came close to being as deep as Suhnaye as far as philosophy, beliefs, and roleplay... I also had a Naga, but he was always there just to blow off steam...
As for the side track of this thread... I consider myself a wiccan, only in that I believe in nature and the organization of powers that wiccans follow opposed to just one all powerfull good guy, and one all powerfull evil guy, God and the Devil... Seems to me theres more a balance, and a lot more grey than that... That said... My religion is completely wierd and is made up of bits and pieces of nearly every religion I've ever heard of... I believe purely in moderation... Aside from my love of food which I seriously wish I could get rid of... And I believe in all things magical, but have never tried practicing it, though it seems cool, and I love letting my imagination think about it.

My only other IRE character was Luminar on Aetolia.
Nothing much realy after playing for 9 months i get secreatery position. YAY!
Lusternia is much more cool, and i'm CR6, Champion (this becose of lack better fighter in Paladins, i dont think i'm that good), Ministry of Poer, on Aetolia i even didnt was any aide, heh.
So i started from Celestines as i thinked it will be similiar to Luminar but i discovered that warriors here are cool, so i changed to Paladins guild.

I was a priest in Achaea when Lusternia opened so I drifted into the Celestines originally. It dawned on me very slowly that I could not be in that type of role anymore. I never thought the forestal concept in Achaea was any good so I was turned off to the idea here. Eventually though, through the examples of others I saw, I ended up a druid through and through.

Actually, I'd be willing to say the equivalent about anyone I've ever known to wear their religion on their sleeve, regardless of what that religion was, up to and including the religion of aetheism.
Anyone who lives by the philosophy of, "My mind's made up. Don't confuse me with the facts," is pretty much a ticking time bomb I'd rather not be standing too close to.
Sylphas2005-09-06 08:03:48
It's not even being close minded that gets me, it's the whole "Look how great I am!" complex they have.

Yeah you very unlucky to of gotten such idiots. They far from Wiccans at any rate.
Not many people that are Wiccan would openly say so, and they certainly wouldn't go about cursing people (I assume thats burning away aura).

Previous character was a Sentinel in Achaea for years upon years. Very little backstory or anything to begin with and so was, in my eyes, a bit of a failure as far as having an engaging character goes.
So then I come over to Lusternia, and I'm not sure what made me decide to play a Paladin. Probably the fact that I had never had a knight alt in Achaea, and wanted to try something new. Also, probably the whole "holy warrior" concept played a bit of a part in that.

I was a Runewarden and a Shaman in Achaea. My best friend was a druid. Druids in Lusternia got Totems and Runes, so we both decided to join Hartstone.
I never actually learnt any runes here, and of course totems are animal spirits.
I never liked forestals in Achaea. I don't like city people in Lusternia.

My Aetolian position was a largely unimportant druid. Lusternia was the first time I really fought and the first time I took up an important leader position.
