My family crest was given to my family sometime in the 11th century, if I remember right (could have been earlier). We saved some king's life (probably the Enlgish king, I suppose) and were awarded a crest and all that crap. This was the O'Mulcahulland clan I mentioned earlier.
It's on some scroll I have up at my aunt's house. Our crest has a rearing lion on it. (Which I like, cause I'm a Leo).

heh, well I'm a Virgo, and so that's the Virgin sign, and it's a virgin on the crest... wish I had something cooler, but then I geuss just having a crest is nifty.

*ahem* 100% British. WOOH, YEAH!! Although I live in America, but that's okay.

Is there such a thing? British can mean a lot, there's a lot of different cultures that have a part in it.
Bau2005-09-11 08:28:32
It's a really odd clan name. I've got it written down somewhere, but I'm pretty O'Mulcahulland was it. It's been shortened down to Mulhall over time.

50% korean and then the other half of me (dad's side) is descended from William Wallace

Irish and English.
Going way back, my family were awarded estates in (then) Norman France, and we still have oil paintings of long-dead ancestors painted by Old Masters hanging in the house.

Oh, and someone wanted to know why Irish were everywhere.
Try checking out the wikipedia listing for Diaspora. Potato famine should also have some interesting notes.

Aajen2005-09-11 18:09:53
Both my parents have told me that they have 8 separate parts in them, and only 1 in common.... so I never bothered learning what 15 different countries my family came from... though one thing is for certian: My family will breed with ANYONE, regardless of nationality.
Unknown2005-09-11 21:58:25
The only thing I know of my ancestry is that at some point down the line, I'm related to the man known as the Black Knight. The only thing that sounded interesting enough to remember when my sister was tracing our family line.

100% spanish. Of that 100% we can take a 25% that is basque (small iberic tribe on the north of spain, pretty particular language, and 0- blood group in a high percent of population. Also known for being very stubborn, resisting the romans, the germans, the early cristians, and the french when they all dared to came).
So boring... I want to have irish ascendant and red hair!

100% Chinese. Mother hails from Beijing (grandparents hail from Shanghai though) and father hails from Guangzhou (Canton).
Nationality-wise, I was born in Hong Kong when it was a British colony, moved to Britain soon after, and now reside in America. So I'm British? American? Chinese? Meh, who cares?
