Another problem with traps seems to be, that they are immensely expensive, it can easily get up to 25K gold for just one fight .

This is part of the titanic wood inflation, right? Or is there some other reason I don't know? More wood REALLY needs to get into the system somehow, IMO.

oops, nevermind, i thought that serenwilde had timberwolfs and magnagora had great danes.

Serenwilde has timberwolves, Glomdoring has direwolves, Celest has golden retrievers, and Magnagora has bloodhounds
Stangmar2005-09-11 13:40:11
Celest has golden retrievers. I found Hajamin's in the magnagoran kennels and keeled it.
Thorgal2005-09-11 14:09:09
There's also a serious uselessness issue with Hunting Ambush:

3140h, 3566m, 3353e, 10p exk-
Thorgal pounces on you from an unseen hiding place.
With a heavy overhand stroke, Thorgal slams Behemoth, a stygian Dreadblade of
Iniquity down upon you, and you make ready with a twisted staff. Thorgal's
greatsword hacks your staff, and you easily deflect the blow.
3140h, 3566m, 3353e, 10p exkp---/10:03:09.296/
You are no longer stunned.
3140h, 3566m, 3353e, 10p exk---/10:03:10.781/

---

4056h, 3998m, 4514e, 10p exk-
You launch yourself at Apprentice Arilyon d'Irande with a roar.
The Blasted Land approaching the Great Southern Highway.
The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth.
Apprentice Arilyon d'Irande is here, shrouded. She wields a blackened tower
shield with a serrated-edge in her left hand and a twisted staff in her right.
You see exits leading southeast and west.
You leap out from your hiding place and pounce upon Arilyon.
With a heavy overhand stroke, you slam Behemoth, a stygian Dreadblade of
Iniquity down upon Arilyon, who brandishes a twisted staff. Your greatsword
hacks into her staff, which deflects the blow easily.
4056h, 3998m, 4514e, 10p ek---/16:02:24.210/
You have recovered balance on all limbs.
4056h, 3998m, 4514e, 10p exk---/16:02:30.580/

So I'm paying 6 seconds of balance loss to stun for less than 1 second? It should be more realistic, and stun for a flat and independant 3 seconds, plus trip.

Couple questions. 1.) Does it evade blockers, walls, or other things that might get you in? 2.) Can it be comboed with actually moving again, or does it have to be an attack or something? 3.) Does the stun stack with shieldstun?
Thorgal2005-09-11 14:15:44
1) No.
2) Yes.
3) No.

Fix: More realistic would be -> stun for a flat and independant 3 seconds, ~300 damage and trips. Since it needs a setup that already takes balance, and executing it takes another 6 seconds of balance.
Shiri2005-09-11 14:18:09
Oh. I guess that could be a lame way to get past guards or something for a period of one room (or avoid traps?) or something more original, but that does seem kind of sucky. dry.gif
Thorgal2005-09-11 14:22:42
All effects still hit you, including totems, walls, blockers and traps.
Thorgal2005-09-11 14:25:05
Another issue:

4056h, 4508m, 4514e, 10p exk-
You begin silently to shadow Apprentice Arilyon's movements about the land.
The Blasted Land approaching the Great Southern Highway.
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky. Apprentice Arilyon d'Irande is here,
shrouded. She wields a blackened tower shield with a serrated-edge in her left
hand and a twisted staff in her right. You see exits leading southeast and
west.
4056h, 4508m, 4514e, 10p ek---/16:22:48.390/
You have recovered balance on all limbs.
4056h, 4583m, 4514e, 10p exk---/16:22:53.060/

Stalk puts you off balance for such a long time that it becomes useless, since the person has 5+ seconds to move on and continue where he was heading, leaving you unable to follow.

Isn't that exactly like the serpent ability shadow, then? That had a long balance loss associated with it too.

Oh, and I just realised, 3 second stun would be so lame, because then for a lot of people you could just move out, jump in stun, move out, jump in stun, and still get all your normal attacks.
Thorgal2005-09-11 14:32:15
Uh, they get 3 seconds between each stun, isn't that enough? And you don't get your normal attacks, it's either ambush/move out/6s off balance, or ambush/attack/6s off balance.

Also, Mimic doesn't work at all, after imitating a dog, a jackal, a bobcat and a ram over 350 times, nothing happened.
Thorgal2005-09-11 14:58:52
Another problem, rustle doesn't work on sheep, helpfile says it's supposed to.
Unknown2005-09-11 15:01:51
Syntax: RUSTLE
With a simple rope, you can lasso a cow and have it obediently follow you. This
is a difficult move, but can be much more easily accomplished if you are
mounted on a steed.

Edit: And mimic has never worked, I think we got one of those ** LISTEN UP ** thingy's about it. I also doubt ambush is meant to be amazingly good.

Another problem, campfire's entirely bugged as well:

4056h, 4322m, 4514e, 10p exk-
You take some wood and light it with your tinderbox, causing it to erupt into a
soothing fire.
4056h, 4322m, 4514e, 10p ek-
The campfire dies down some and smolders more heavily.
The warmth of the merry campfire drains away your tensions and worries.

4056h, 4322m, 4514e, 10p exk-
With a final spark, the campfire goes dark and emits a large cloud of smoke.
4056h, 4322m, 4514e, 10p exk-

All that happened within like 5 seconds.
Roark2005-09-11 15:10:44
A warrior with tracking will not require a city or commune nexus for any abilities, which is the only instance where this exists.

It's probably like FAESUMMON MAIDEN - it vanishes after a random period of time. It worked fine when Sylphas used it on me when we were camping outside of Stewartsville and I had run myself down to 0 endurance giving people crocodile zodiac spheres.

Except you need to be part of a nexus to get your hound or wolf.

There's a difference between "not amazingly good", and "amazingly crappy".

I'm just trying to point out flaws, which is too unclear using BUG or IDEA, since the envoy reports have already been sent in.

Woooh...that would be so cool.
But since he isn't, I'll just have to wait a bit. Now I need to wait for my two credit loads to arrive. And buy the cameo I planned. biggrin.gif

After that, I'll buy a rottweiler pet...and call him like my baby, 'Spike'. *daydream*

A hound will CLAMP its target even if you don't have the skill.
