No problem with defending the company line. Still should know what he is talking about, before he comes out speaking as a representative for his company. Also, as a financial supporter, I feel I am entitled to praise and criticize.

I believe you're more of a customer than anything else (same thing as financial support i guess)

while you may have intended to critisize, it came across as over the line from my point of view, challenging hajamin to a duel in another realm basically.......he said he had experience, he even went further than he had to telling us about his experience.

From the chats i've had with hajamin and also roark they know what they are doing, and are easily qualified to do their jobs on both the actual paper degrees, and also in IRE experience.

Not having a go at you here Gebbers, but yeh I don't like it when people have a crack at any of the admins here, they do a far better job than in achaea thats for sure.

Murphy, you are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. Saying one group of admin does a better job than another is also an opinion that you possess that I may not share.

Every single suggestion of my ebonguard envoy report for Night and Crow has been implemented, I've got faith again!

ahh yeh ok Geb, that was a bit amiss of me, its just my personal opinion from certain things I've heard from friends who've bought like 10k credits.

Still, the admins here do a pretty fine job, and they actually TALK and give feedback to you.

Either way, be thankful they are even discussing it publically

Side effect of sending in reasonable reports that aren't 5 pages long I guess.
Murphy2005-09-15 07:58:53
ugh, its hard to keep them short, otherwise you just sound like your asking for all these changes without justification! 5 pages is short!!!

I think my mate would agree with you, she finds it very disconcerting *chuckle*

From all these posts I would assume a majority of people playing Lusternia are either Wiccan, Knight, Druid, Mage. However, what about Guardian subskills and the like. I have heard hardly anyone speak of them in as much depth as I have heard concerning other skills.

Is this because the Guardian class is balanced, or is it because it is the hardest to play? I am not quite sure with both those statements because I am definitely not into PvP at this point as I have been dormant for awhile.

From what I read I can see there aren't a lot of people that PvP with guardian archetypes. However I know a lot of framiliar faces that have played guardian archetypes but left. Why did you decide to switch class, was it because you wanted more burst damage?

From a lot of comments here I am finding most concerns are with dealing and outputting more damage and perhaps this is because afflictions have become not as much of a big deal as when they were a long time ago. When I first started we had a lot of guardians because people couldn't cure well.

I do not know a great deal about skillsets but I know the guardian isn't the quickest way to kill people. In fact with skillsets like Astrology, seeing the Sun ray in action really makes me laugh for 200+ mana. Did anyone decide to increase the damage output of the Sun Ray in astrology to make it useful in combat situations?

It is the only damage side of Astrology which I think is very good for guardians, but the fact that it does so little is really weak if you happen to match a five zodiac Stellium and one of the five planets doesn't really count for anything given the complete chaotic application of most astrological abilities. I think the Sun ray would be best if the damage was random within a certain range. 98 damage off a frost sun ray again is pathetic for 200 mana.
=============================================================================
Lastly, concerning warriors from way back in the posts. I find warriors quite an interesting class using intellect, dexterity, constitution, and strength all at the same time. I think this is what makes knights such a power and flexible class is because the fact that you can have high dexterity and afflict well and if you have higher dexterity you will most likely have either more intellect for transmuting health and athletic abilities or faster recovery.

This reminds me a great deal of the old Monk class on achaea because you could be totally physical and be good or the opposite and still kill people effectively just in different ways.

This however does not extend to all classes. I feel there should be uses for all statistics within classes so there are advantages for having lower constitution or lower intellect and so on. Again my opinion is warriors are considered good because they have a variety of statistics to draw from for their class. Such as I think Celestines and Guardians in general should get more physical attacks that use balance instead of equilibrium. This would take off the focus of the trend of faster equilibrium to faster balance for such things as tarot, perhaps a mace-smite ability magic/physical, alongside cosmicfire so there is more variety in choosing your style according to your race.

Sun was suggested to change into 3 afflictions, actually, because that kind of damage is pathetic, and all sun does right now is hinder you if it's in the same sign as another, more useful planet (as far as rays go.) Guardians/Wiccans are pretty balanced, astrology is generally recognised as being fairly weak (I don't think it's that bad, but it's certainly not a strong skillset). I wouldn't worry about those just yet, it's a newer skill so the envoy report might take a bit more work than the others?

It is hard for me to really communicate my feelings on the Sun ray as I am probably the only astrologer in my guild. However I do not feel adding more afflictions is what the skill set needs. That is all it is and I believe the Sun damage should be increased significantly to compensate. If Cosmicfire is our only damage attack let it be worth learning astrology for another potential attack that can vary from all damage types thus we could coordinate astro sphere vulnerabilities more appropiately given the nativity of the target.

I also very much love Astrology and the Guardian Archetype. As a human with rather mediocre statistics I quite enjoy the additional and occasional +3 intellect or constitution given correct alignments. However I do not notice very much from the passive skills in astrology. Everything seems to work except the one that lowers damage. It is quite vague. Again I love astrospheres for buffs and it is very helpful doing influencing if you manage +30% charisma. Astrology can be used in conjunction with Quickening in Cosmic rather nicely I have seen.

Astrology is weak or powerful depending on the person using it and the time they choose to use it. But it definitely needs damage potential.
Torak2005-09-15 09:48:09
I don't think there are really any fighters who use astrology, so sadly you won't see it in many envoys. Also, it will be a very hard to make any comments on it due to how many of the abilities shift based on time, and how many factors influence it. But yeah alot of the abilities in it need a majour shift, IE sunray or whatever its called.
Shiri2005-09-15 09:49:31
You don't need to kill with damage, you need to kill with judgement or absolve really. Cosmicfire is only for if you bash, and also if you pull off inquisition. I thought buffing damage would be nice but the tertiary skills aren't (or so I am repeatedly told) supposed to have damage kills in general, they're for augmenting your primary skills. Soulless seems to be an exception to this. Besides, it's better to have afflictions than damage, especially if one of the changes I discussed with Thorgal went in.

EDIT: Torak, both Ethelon and I (even if you don't think I'm a fighter, Ethelon is) use astrology, meh. tongue.gif
Torak2005-09-15 09:52:16
Ok, my bad some fighters DO use it,but it is still going to be hard to change based on the factors that influence it. Did anyone envoy much on it?
Qaletaqa2005-09-15 09:52:22
Yeah I never learned Sacraments because I didn't want to learn anymore lessons into something that wouldn't transfer to Hallifax tongue.gif

I won't convert, not yet!

Bad move, dude.

And Narsrim envoyed minor tweaks (the ones I asked for), but then Thorgal was curious about it later, so I demonstrated what it could do, and he had some other suggestions which a couple people envoyed. And Ethelon only put a couple things about it in the SD Envoy IIRC.
