I'd much rather nerf ecology and have three decent skills then 1 very nice skill and two that suck.

If things go as planned, Stag should get some nice upgrades this time around to be up to par. Furthermore, Druidry isn't absolutely amazing, but it isn't all that bad either. Munsia and I destroyed Kaervas and Daevos in a 2v2 fight earlier (albeit, I did have to separate them so we could work on one of em).

Nah Shamarah, its horrible. Anyone with stacked cold resistances and great armour - like, say, WARRIORS - are now going to be practically unkillable by aquamancers.

As I have pointed out before, armour only protects against 50% of staff/cudgel damage.

We already know this. What you fail to realize is that even that bit of protection is enough, when you are running around with surged health greater than 6k.

I've always thought that surge was a very bizarre and unbalanced skill. At higher end levels, people can pull 10-15k health. That's just ridiculous and if you method of killing happens to be damage based, you got no chance.
Sylphas2005-09-12 04:09:49
I'm still pushing for a way to convert half of what my strength would be into health. I'd have an extra 1k or so.
Hajamin2005-09-12 05:14:14
I'd just like to say, if Druids still complain after these changes... I'll just delete them(druids that is).

Do it! That way Sylphas will join the Aquas.
Shiri2005-09-12 05:20:27
He'll join the Moondancers, more like.

Geb has brought me down to within 800 health before I managed to get away when I was surged.
I sincerely don't see how you can justify Surge makes knights unkillable via damage when I've managed to vitalize people like Alger with just my broadswords and I'm an Aslaran with low strength. If you take a look at how damage is scaled, warriors need the extra health when dealing with hard hitting people. Even though warriors can do some rediculous amounts of damage, it is still much more viable to negate or halt a warrior's offense entirely. This isn't the same against attacks like staff or moonburst. Only shield stops them, and we can't dodge them either. How about you let us dodge magic spells or give us something like rebounding against spells and you can use your eogo or something to convert to health too.

So is that a possible confirmation on my and Gregori's proposed Stag changes?
Alger2005-09-12 05:28:28
Geb blew me away with his staff + demesne + phantoms earlier. While I'm not crying nerf the staffcast, I will say its not weak either. He hit me for 1.3k through cold resistance and an hf. With his mugwump speed it made me go press my puella button at which point the server said... What do you mean? So I pressed my transmute button and ran out of mana :\\
Anyway point is it was a simple phantoms + demesne effects + straight staffing... I was hardly messed up so no its not impossible to kill warriors.

And mages and guardians don't?
Terenas2005-09-12 05:32:25
As I said, make magic attacks reboundable, let us be able to dodge magic spells, and or even parry or absorb them, then we'll talk.

Sure, if regenerate covers wounds as much as sparkleberry would affect a Moondancer even if a moonburst did mana drain as well rather than just damage...

Mages and guardians can't dodge magic spells either.
Edit: Not that I have a problem with surge. I think Knights are meant to be the best in combat. But the comparison between surge and fighting a mage or guardian is false.
Athana2005-09-12 05:34:52
I'm going to have to agree with Terenas on this one, there's alot one can do to greatly hinder the major offence of a warrior.
Sylphas2005-09-12 05:35:56
And a large set of druids and mages will die if ONE set of those attacks get through.
Unknown2005-09-12 05:37:17
I'm not talking about offense and I'm not complaining about warrior damage. I'm talking about how warriors usually have 2 or 3 thousand more health than mages, as well as full plate armour.
