HA! That is just great...How long has Xavius been a necromancer? Maybe you don't understand that YOUR envoy suggested it. YOU have to live with it, bitch at him, not the forums.

And for the record, I do regard it as a downgrade, just not a significant one. We got one itty-bitty downgrade and one itty-bitty, bugged upgrade. It's nothing to get your panties in a knot over.

No one understands that pain like Necromancers, Erion. (pays homage to poor poor Putre, who was so savagely maimed in exchange for "upgrades")
Alger2005-09-19 23:36:46
I didnt understand that...

I would have thought skills are looked at on an over-all perspective not just on a particular skill. So when evaluating a downgrade or an upgrade you evaluate the other things that you're planning to change or keep untouched. So why are suggestions to be judged seperately?

I'm not sure what enhancements you are talking about. The only thing that came across my desk was a very convoluted request for making familiars not die during the transmigration process that would be very difficult to code. Anyway, I didn't like this idea at all. Even looking at it again, I have no idea how this "enhancement" would have anything to do with limiting transmigration to same plane.

The was the same-plane request:
The was my notation:

Then the full envoy report obviously didn't make it's way to you. Gregori's report was far more detailed and indepth than that.

QUOTE(Gregori @ Sep 19 2005, 06:34 PM)
So effectively what you are saying is don't bother to send in a balanced envoy report because the full suggestion of something will not be looked at for the overall merit, but each piece of it will be viewed seperately.

Just for the record this was the full suggested change:

It's a nice upgrade ON PRIME. I can leave it somewhere safe. Transmigration is now worthless for bashing off prime, however, because you either leave your familiar where anyone can kill it in 1-2 hits, or you take it with and transmigrate into aggro mobs.

And this is exactly the reason I'm so angry sometimes about skills. If you have one really good skill (sap, returning, etc), you will never get decent upgrades for your crappy or worthless skills. Yet if you suggest trading your overpowered skill for a full set of decent ones, you get nerfed into the ground with nothing to show for it.

STBU. Put it in your next envoy report. Muahaha.

Sorry, but I felt some wicked satisfaction from stating it, no idea why...

Oh wait, I know why. biggrin.gif
Lisaera2005-09-19 23:39:08
All three of those sections were in, 1 was rejected, 2 was approved (as you saw the notation) and 3 was rejected.

And yes, unless it's part of the same suggestion it's not assessed as the same thing. You can try to make the report as a whole "balanced" if you like, but it's just your concept of balance, not ours. Furthermore, as you can see from your own writing, you spoke nothing of having the transmigration change be a balance to anything, the reasoning in it was that it was more dangerous to be on higher planes with it as it was.

Why is conceal made for Ecologists only? Whats a camouflaged Tracker suppose to do when their hunting companion gives their location away?
Torak2005-09-19 23:39:49
Oh and Erion, I am not saying the change is fine, now understanding what the whole suggestion was. But rather that to some it can be seen as an upgrade, IE ones with conglut(Or whatever you want to call it) while the rest get shafted. I know this feeling, I am a Nihilist..possibly one of the most nerfed classes around sad.gif.

No druid is saying it's an upgrade. None. All of us are screaming about it like little children.

It wasn't the "whole suggestion", as you can see from Gregori's own report, the reasoning given had nothing to do with balance, there wasn't even anything in there speaking of it being a balancing suggestion.

If you expect us to make assumptions from the tone of your report about balance between suggestions, forget it. What you consider to be balanced is more than likely not anyway.

From what I heard, neither does Mimic, but that doesn't explain why the option wasn't even offered to Trackers.
Torak2005-09-19 23:44:22
Ok Lisaera, on that statement should reports be broken up like this then?

I suggest A, be switched to this, given B is switched to this, ect ect? I think that is what you are saying, which if it is..I completely agree. Otherwise, I am obviously lost and will stop posting to prevent myself from looking like even more of an idiot smile.gif.

Of course you do. As I said, only necromancy users think it's an upgrade.

And I seem to be finding even they don't really find it to be an upgrade. tongue.gif Would you like Lich to not work off-plane? I mean, you can conglute.

Because Trackers sark.

EDIT: I guess I should be a bit politer. Perhaps because your ent serves more purpose than ours? Iunno. Ours can.. listen. Woo.

Well if you are going to suggest something as a counter-weight to another suggestion, you could at least say so. We don't have time to read between the lines or overanalyse these reports, if we see a suggestion which is on its own, not linked to anything else and makes a simple request, even providing its own self-sustaining reasoning, we are going to treat it as a single suggestion!
