After taking my time to not read through these 48 pages, I think we can conclude that the only solution is to leave everything as it is, except give unite a power cost of 1, and have all the bond abilities require equilibrium, but not consume it.

Repeating:

* Unite cost 1p.
* All bond skills require, but not consume, equilibrium.

(It might get lost in the spam.)
Ekard2005-09-20 18:22:06
I like this idea.
Unknown2005-09-20 18:28:32
I would be totally fine with that. Even add in the 800 willpower. 1 power is completely acceptable, so long as it doesn't actually use equilibrium.

However, i'm still annoyed that our wolves/hounds cannot seek players across areas...

"Here boy, go deliver this bag of gold to Bob in Magnagora from the Skarch" Done. No problem.

"Here boy, go find Bob in Skarch from Dairuchi" Cannot compute!

...wtf?

Seconded.

Bleh, that was a scary bunch of posts.

Druids: Stfu, transmigration is still nice. If you don't like it, maybe you should go back to Runes or Dreamweaving wink.gif

Estarra: Thanks for the comments on how to submit envoy reports. Up until this point, I feel it is has been very hit/miss for us because there was no feedback on exactly what you guys wanted.

There was a post on the Envoys board about it aaaaages ago, it wasn't AS clear as what Vira wrote back a bit, but it was pretty clear to me, at least. mellow.gif

Thanks to the Divine for implementing the retriever changes! You all do an awesome job of listening to player input. thumup.gif

I can't really understand why it would be thought that Ecologists would just want them downgraded so heavily with nothing in return.

That's a thumb rule in IRE, never ever suggest downgrades in return for upgrades, only suggest downgrades if you think a skill is truly overpowered, and needs pure downward balancing.

I don't know if envoys do this or not, but they can also suggest balances to skills that aren't in their archetypes (though it will be taken with the proverbial grain of salt).

Again, I will point out that the ecology suggestion (as interpreted by myself) did not appear as a request for a 'downgrade' to balance an 'upgrade', but as a requested 'upgrade' balance that was desired by ecologists. (Read it again and you'll see what I mean.)
Corr2005-09-20 23:37:11
Why the 1 power cost? What purpose does that serve?

I see what you mean - it was poorely worded on Gregori's part. glare.gif now, since it's obviously a mistake, could it be undone? Please? pleasesign.gif

Subj: More Envoy Updates

Yet more updates from the always wonderful envoy reports. How I love
those envoys.

Athletics:

- Regeneration can now be turned off when you have hit 0 willpower or
mana, so you won't continue to drain.
- Adrenaline and hunger are now only stopped by being paralysed.
- You can no longer tackle through walls or other obvious obstacles.
- The tackler now actually will go into the room with the person they
have tackled.
- Constitution no longer makes you immune to slickness (I have no idea
why this was there).
- When you are hit with a poison, it will first check your resilience
shrugging ability before using up your Athletics immunity.
- Puissance now increases how much wounding damage the next strike does
as well.

Tarot:

- Starleaper will no longer be set off by attacks from mobiles, or
stigmata or putrefaction effects.
- Soulless cards that are first rubbed within the arena will not be
useable outside the arena, and vice versa.
- Moon tarot is now useable through World. The World AB file has also
been updated as it seems there was some confusion as to which cards
could be used with it.

Discernment:

- Aethersight now also picks up tesseract attempts to you and those in
the same room.

Planar:

- Unravel no longer uses up all the mana if there isn't a valid gate in
the room to unravel.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Klangiary, in the year 127 CE.

I hoped this one would go through!

Does anyone use tesseract anymore anyway?

Subj: New Stuff

Dreamweavers
- While linked you should see the "you follow blah to wherever" text
(bug fix).
- INDC's syntax should work exactly like pocketbelts; all obscure
differences in their distinct behaviour should now be reconciled. For
example, INDC MOTE will just pick a mote in your inventory (similar to
INB HERB).
- New ability: eternal sleep.

Warriors
- Roundhouse has better odds of striking others plus ignores the same
defs ignored by lunge and crush from other specializations.
- Two new abilities: hefty sword and hefty axe for Pureblade and
Axelord.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Juliary, in the year 127 CE.

I beat Xenthos! happy.gif
Roark2005-09-21 23:04:49
I also fixed the quirk with puissant damage/wounds and two handed weapons.
