You're arguing a completely differnent subject. In combat, they offer little offensive advantage over someone. If you seriously want to tell me Conglutinate will help you somehow before you die, or that Aethersight really matters after someone has started beating on you, be my guest, but I doubt you'll make much sense.
Regardless, that wasn't my point. Riding is going to be something, I think, that is either nice for RP only, has to have some huge fantasy spin to make sense, or be a must trans for any combatant who doesn't want to suck. Traditionally, mounted soldiers had a huge advantage over those who weren't mounted.

See Sylphas when they say combat they mean everything thats related to it not just that time when they're sticking swords or blasting each other. I agree with them as well. All those mentioned are actually very huge advantages in combat situations. Be it going "need tesseract target on now." or getting that 2-3 seconds difference between a 12 second passive paralyze or seeing who's trying to port in midcombat those make a huge difference when you're fighting.
Contrary to popular belief environment offers a lot of huge advantages as well. It is an awesome skillset. Weathersight may not be as awesome as conglutinate, serpent, aethersight or what not but I assure you being to climb trees dive in water or scale mountains is. Being able to scan is the only way we for us who dont have totems to see through gems. Tumble is by very valuable. Chopping is essential in demesne wars against a druid etc.

I'd class a lot of that as utility and not actual combat. I think we simply don't define things quite the same. And I suppose Environment is hard to comment on, since I'm so used to Totems and take most of it for granted.
Ekard2005-09-30 10:29:18
Thorgal and Alger have right. Those skils are very usefull. I wish i could trans all of them.
Lets take stupid dive in sea abbility in Environment.
When Alger was on Water plane, us 5 chasing him we couldnt get him why?
cose he dived and we jsut couldnt, only way was to teleport to him or summon him. We were are Paladins there so we didnt had, demesne or beckon. I waster around 20% reservs on trying to summon and teleport to him.
If i could dive it would be much easier. And its same with rest of those skills.

That's because Alger fights, and you don't.

No, not really. Even if I fought every damn day, I'd still class them as utility. Continue arguing with me if you want, but there's no real argument unless you really want to argue semantics.
Also, I'm starting to get annoyed by the way people seem to write you off as a non-fighter unless you're top tier. You're right, recently I haven't been fighting at all. But that doesn't mean I'm not a fighter. I'm simply not as good as the rest of you, but that doesn't immediately invalidate my opinion.
Thorgal2005-09-30 17:05:25
If you don't fight, your opinion is not valuable for combatants when it's about combat details and specifics. Seems rather obvious to me.. I suck at political debates with the big words, you won't see me engaging in one, or acting as if I know what I'm talking about when others are engaged in one. I stay clear of those threads and stick to combat or related topics.
Sylphas2005-09-30 17:12:03
Nevermind, you're obviously not interpreting what I say the same way I mean it, and I don't care enough to keep bothering.
Shiri2005-10-02 04:34:15
On a related note, is it possible to be told when this is all going to be finished? I need to know for a guild thing, but apparently some things are taking longer than others to change (Astrology, possibly Tracking) so I can't tell when it's done.
Lisaera2005-10-02 11:08:47
Tracking already is finished, numbnuts.
Soll2005-10-02 11:27:24

Ekard2005-10-02 11:28:43
What about Sacraments?!
We need change to lustration and ablution.

So glad I went back to necromancy.
Considering the pitiful state of tracking and hunting, I advise everyone to move back to moon/stag/crow/night/necromancy/sacraments, it's definitely worth the lesson loss.
Alger2005-10-02 11:41:54
ewww this is what trackings going to be until next envoy? Guess its time to save up 150 credits and follow everybody else who switched back already.
Diamante2005-10-02 12:30:57
Orginal cost of their first trans skill 300
total credits to switch, around 150
total credits to switch back, round 150
players who have done this because the skill sucks ass
and now has been confirmed there is no hope for a
few months 6
Credits wasted 3600
Giving those trackers one chance for a new envoy ..Priceless
On a side note, I the admin, but this is unfair

Maybe the admin think tracking isn't that bad.. for some unknown reason?
Icarus2005-10-02 13:24:38
I did wait a while to check out the Tracking skillset before I switched. Then, a bit later, it was nerfed with no apparent explanations.
I guess I am one of the numbnuts.

Heh if people did things for roleplay reasons, rather than to be the most uberest of the uber, perhaps you wouldn't have these problems?
