That's not to do with Envoy Changes! Why is it being posted here?

Saw a big post by you, and assumed. Plus the bit that said 'Lots of miscellaneaous changes' Still, quite a bit of it is skill-related, so.. It'll do.. There should be a sticky titled 'Announces' in this thread...

- Jousting should now no longer cause horrible, fiery death if the
person being jousted has no weapon.
"Well I say Sir Fiddious, it's a wonderful day for a Joust, shall we have at it then?"
"Here here Lord Montegue"
"Oh dear, I've droped my weapon!"
*oh so painful fiery flamey death*
Would have been nice to see that.
Anywho, the referendum changes = YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Moondancers had one for quite awhile that was completely empty.
*waits for possible envoy changes to healing*

Does healing need changes right now? It seems pretty balanced to me.
Soll2005-10-02 21:16:36
There's one or two changes to Healing that I think are coming, to make it what it should be: superior at healing.
Unknown2005-10-02 21:32:05
People actually use joust?
Alger2005-10-02 21:34:29
Quidgyboo theres a difference between saying oh the skillset doesnt let us kill people as well as we want to and having a skillset that we dont actually use anymore. In that whole skillset I use 3 skills.
Believe it or not most of us did go tracking because of RP reasons but if the whole thing is going to be useless then bugger that I'm not going to stick around for 6 months so I can do nothing but RP that I'm a hunter. Hell if thats all I'm going to do might as well go Necro right now and just RP that I'm a hunter. Really whats the difference if I have tracking or necro aye? I'm sorry if you dont understand that but to me what you said sounded really unthought out.
Well doesnt matter, I'm going inactive soon anyway.

They fixed it in one of the previous envoy changes, so i geuss this was just a re-fix

Healing I think is only balanced if it's meant to be cruddy in combat. Especially if some poor Shadowdancer takes it.

Why is it so much worse for shadowdancers than celestines or moondancers?
And healing needs at least one upgrade that I can think of that I know was suggested, but we'll see what the Admins think
And this isn't really envoy related, just recent-change-related - skunk spray ground is broken

I just can't see any Shadowdancer using choke to any kind of decent level if they have to make do with healing. It's even harder on their offence than us. Am I missing something obvious that would make it good for them? We're a little more self reliant than Shadowdancers.
Celestines I didn't mention because I haven't really thought through how their offence would work without tarot yet.
EDIT: Uh, not self reliant, but...not reliant on the choice. If that makes sense.

Oooh, forgot about choke. Yeah, I see your point. Meh, I don't like healing - too expensive manawise for effective combat use, in my opinion, even with Sprite, Perfection, Drawdown, and 18 int.
Shiri2005-10-03 09:23:04
Forget the mana cost, it just leaves you with sod all offence against anyone who can cure aeon and maybe darkmoon against the right target, although you want to conserv power unless you have the int necessary for moonburst, which is unlikely because ideally you want them asleep and waking them up doesn't help.) Moondancers are pretty fine with hexes as a third skillset, astrologers have a chance if it's a good day or your opponent has aeon on their nativity, and healers are just meh in combat. And the worst part is that while it does have uses outside of combat, and it's simpler than astrology, it's not even that good at utility due to annoying flaws like succoring others costing eq (and yourself as well actually), and farheal/cure not working on indoor targets. Meh meh.
Eyod2005-10-03 09:33:41
I like healing, really all I want is the ability to assess people in healing.
Murphy2005-10-03 10:03:03
healers, sip a few poisons, bedevil and choke.
Eyod2005-10-03 10:07:53
doesn't bedevil only take like a 3rd of afflictions?
Shiri2005-10-03 10:14:25
More like 2/3 in my experience. But the eq time and the fact that not only do not all afflictions transfer, but the ones that don't stay on you where you can't see them (although your opponent gets to diagnose) means it's unreliable. It's not that awful but you're still screwed compared to astrology/hexes.

As a Celestine I was able to reliably venom-lock using Bedevil...but it became very boring and venoms were hard to get at the time, so I went back to Tarot. Healing for ShadowDancers as Shiri said is a waste of time since we have NOTHING in our damn Night skillset aside from Nightkiss to kill people with. Maybe if we got skills to afflict with or aeon (I know, we have choke instead) then we wouldn't have to rely on the third skillset and more people would take Healing.
Shiri2005-10-03 10:49:13
Ah, I forgot you guys can lock with that. If we want to lock with venoms, we have to wait and fluke out on a crone (1/8 chance) anorexia with a well-timed chansu bedevil (2/3 chance.)
And hope they don't have focus mind.
I still got Nayl with that though.

I meant when I was Celestine cause the angel gave Anorexia...and there is away to make it so all venoms go across, you just gotta have it set up right.

I know you meant when you were a Celestine...forgive my liberal use of "you guys."
As for a way to get all the venoms to go across...
Oh. Hmm, well, my bad for not knowing then. Although no one ever mentioned anything like that before.
