No, you can't surge when you fight guardians. But you still have 16-17 constitution to go with your 17+ strength. A merian would have 10.

I said, an ASLARAN can't fight surged.
an ASLARAN has 12 base con, 13 with weathering as a knight.

Mages are tricky to pick, but a mage with runes can embed disloyalty, supersling it with paralyse so they can't use charismaticsmile, plus they have a demense that fires pasively, and they can move rooms to staff,
A mage runist can be quite effective against a guardian

One affliction makes them vulnerable to mages?

QUOTE(morik @ Sep 12 2005, 07:42 AM)
The main point of this rant is that we now have no way to kill a surged knight, not that we hate knights in general. Beforehand, we may have had a chance with enough messing about, but I fear that my 14 int staffcast, 16 with blessing will not be enough to kill /anyone/ who has the right resistances.
My gripe isn't a warrior gripe. Its a general "how the hell do I kill someone now?" gripe.

I was talking about warriors saying they have so many disadvantages.
Alger2005-09-12 07:44:04
Avaer it was the mage that was complaining.
Murphy2005-09-12 07:44:38
you kill someone with your telekenetics stuff, thats how
you either have a half ego instakill, or a burtvessels one, use them!

Welcome to the world of Druid Cudgel, which we have said the exact same thing over forever, and before you all start in with "well you have ecology!" remember Ecology isn't cudgel and I am comparing the cudgel and staff not the third skillsets, because mages have psionics, thanks.
Shiri2005-09-12 07:56:44
Bloody Kalodan and your drama keeping me from seeing wtf is going on with these changes.
Unknown2005-09-12 08:00:06
Does this change to cudgel actually change anything?
I thought armour had both cutting/blunt pretty similar. Bring on the lightning cudgels!

Now that I know what the change is
I spiders.
I spiders.
Thorgal2005-09-12 08:24:43
Cudgel is 50% cutting and 50% blunt, don't ask me what the rationale behind that is, just like I can't find any rationale behind making banshee a passive instakill, though making sap cost 5p is probably a nice change.

Wait until I test that banshee thing for sure, but...it does LOOK completely unnecessary and insane.
EDIT: Don't blame us, by the way, it wasn't in the envoy report. >_>
Munsia2005-09-12 08:32:26
Hartstone didnt get anything special.. only blacktalon
Unknown2005-09-12 08:35:33
Twirl is now very useful.
Gregori2005-09-12 08:39:04
I really don't see the 50/50 cutting/blunt being a boon for us. More like a bone tossed our way to hush us up for a little while. I am happy with all the other changes so far though, and hope that a few more will come.
Shiri2005-09-12 08:46:29
I was kind of hoping Druids could move away from having to use sap to kill, because it's really annoying and doesn't allow for the give-and-take of combat at all, but at least it's an upgrade, which they needed, I guess.
Unknown2005-09-12 08:47:13
So if I'm extremely lucky, I could get an instakill out of my banshee? Schweet. I don't like the sylph change though, although it does make sense. :/
Shiri2005-09-12 08:49:40
Sylph seems to be not working at all, actually. I'll bug it in a bit, but it wasn't working on Kalodan even though I had him enemied and declared and order it attacking him on Ethereal...:/
Gregori2005-09-12 08:51:59
If he was twirling his cudgel he would be safe from it.
Shiri2005-09-12 08:53:18
It works in the air too? Damn.
