How and/why does this happen?

Now, the question is... is Murphy worth 100,000 gold? unsure.gif

From what I remember, I could have passed the advancement requirements on both aquamancers/moondancers in a matter of minutes.

They're or should be designed for novices to show they know their way around (and a time to get to know the guild and be known by it). A person like Murphy, known by almost anybody that matters, very involved with Glomdoring since quite a while, shouldn't have much trouble "leading the interviewer to the Ravenwood Tree" or "showing he has the cures for this and that".

Would be quite ridiculous, wouldn't it?

If Murphy joined the Moondancers (which would never happen, I know), he would have to sit for 14 hours as a Novice at the very least, just so we could make sure he wasn't trying to betray us. If Malicia joined, she'd get five advances in an OOC day, if she went through the discussion topics we ask our experienced novices to go through, to make sure she understood our ways/views on things before making her a full member.

Novicehood is there so you get acquinted with the ways of a guild before you become a full member and speak on a level with the other full members - if you don't know the ways of the guild, how they do things, should you really be an insta-graduate? It isn't a question of knowledge of Lusternia.

I think in this case Murphy is more on the case of Malicia trying to join the Moondancers...
