Pureblades must be pretty new, because I can see basically no info on that skillset. From what I hear though, chopping peoples limbs and removing heads sounds like fun. Just a little description, anyone? Nothing you say will change my mind, because who wouldn't want to RP a huge blade wielding orclach?

Oh, and what are the different two-hander blades about, I see greatswords and claymores, anything else?
Terenas2005-09-13 04:45:54
Underpowered. biggrin.gif
Shiri2005-09-13 04:50:09
Greatswords, Katana, Claymores, and...hmm. dry.gif *will edit in a bit* Bastard swords? I forget. >_<

EDIT: I'm told Bastard Sword is right.

It's not.

Both Axelord and Pureblade are grossly underpowered right now... though I'm confident that it will change soon... Roark's always been good about recognizing and addressing knight bad things... I think he likes us....

As for the weapons: Claymore is for damage, Bastard sword speed, Greatsword is balanced, and Katana is for prescision... I think. Bastard and Greatsword might be switched, but no one cares about them.
Ceres2005-09-13 17:53:11
Claymore - damage
Greatsword - wounding
Katana - speed
Thorgal2005-09-13 19:15:49
Bastardsword too, it's supposed to be the average and balanced one, there just isn't a masterweapon design for it yet.

So yeah:

Claymore -> damage
Greatsword -> precision
Katana -> speed
Bastard -> average

While I would agree that axelord and pureblade are not as developed, it is unncessary drama to claim they are grossly underpowered.

If that's the case, I'd argue Astrology is "grossly underpowered" to Hexes.
Aajen2005-09-13 20:22:33
Inferior in every way = Grossly underpowered.... I would compare it with Shadowlord Faelings vs. Asarlan before all the racial balancing... Astrolgy and Hexes have different focuses... two-handers have the same focus as one-handers but fall short in every area related to that focus... That less "unncessary drama" for you?

It's a relatively new class though, so I am just going to wait and see. In the end everybody will want to be able to chop peoples limbs off biggrin.gif.
Terenas2005-09-13 21:19:57
The two-handers have extremely powerful potentials. With his fully runed up weapons, Icarus is a pain in the neck to fight, one of the hardest knights for me to fight against. I have to constantly hinder him to catch up on my limbs or he'll start amputating them pretty fast.
Thorgal2005-09-13 23:10:14
When I spar Daevos with his fully runed lightning elemental 400+ dmg claymore, and my 480 precision greatsword, we just stand there hacking at eachother, eating sparkleberry and applying health, not getting any of eachother's limbs even past medium wounds, or even coming close to having to sip health.. ending up in draws everytime.. blink.gif
Jairdan2005-09-14 00:00:11
Isn't that called balance? tongue.gif Where you have to use MORE than just swinging swords when it comes to people of equal skill? (which i'd say you both are). You have other skills.. you have to use them to get the upper hand. *shrugs* Seems right to me.

It takes forever to amputate a limb, and even when I managed to, it's not as critical as it seems. Remember that FFA I amputated your arm six times, then you came back to kill me a while later? The only life-threatening amputation I heard, is when both arms are amputated at the same time. I have yet to see it happening though.
Shryke2005-09-14 00:04:26
I think the idea was that they couldn't even really hurt each other because it's underpowered... *sagenod*
Unknown2005-09-14 02:43:10
Wow, that sucks. But like I said before and everyone ignored me...if the skill is that new changes will be made.
Navaryn2005-09-14 03:04:07
Yeah, we realize that. That's why there are still some Pureblade and Axelord out there tongue.gif
Goyel2005-09-14 03:15:20
I'm a pureblade...

I figure the changes will be made before i learn how to fight biggrin.gif
Unknown2005-09-14 04:19:54
I am virtually on my knees begging for pureblade to be made better, i love rping running around with a hugh sword, but i also want to be good at combat.

I hope they make it as good as the bonecrusher specialization

If you suck at combat, a good speciality isn't going to help you.
