I've been thinking about purchasing a new game for my PC but I can't decide between Guild Wars and Dungeon Siege 2. Both looks quite interesting but can't afford both of them yet sad.gif

Any thoughts?

Here's the question you should really ask yourself, if you plan on play Lusternia and other games at the same time:

Can I beat this game?

Two MMORPGs at once is unhealthy.

Plus you either tend to neglect one and its wasted money, or you don't get the most out of either.

Like I'm doing right now!

And I hear Guild Wars rocks, check out articles online for the both of them, should give you a good idea.

But Guild Wars' free, so no wasted money here (no idea if DS2 is free too though)

Besides, going to university and having a job help me not to spend over 5 hours/day in front of my comp playing.

Any game i buy is for my free time, i'm fairly sure i can handle Lusternia and it both smile.gif

I bought WoW, and it was an utter waste of money. I play Lusternia so much more, and IF lags me to hell and back (like, 15 minutes of me not being able to even move).

I honestly got sick of WoW pretty fast. Battlegrounds is fun, but otherwise... not worth the money.

The only way one of my friends could cure his achaea addiction was to get addicted to Wow.... dry.gif

My friends I all had addicted in high school dropped it after about a year. It was awesome for a time, though. My gf and I exchanged credits for Valentine's Day.

WoW is fine, but I've found I cannot give it enough time to compete with the 24/7 adicts. Kind of the same that happened to lusternia. Anyway, killing things there and seeing all the fireballs and the flashy lights it's relaxing.

Lusternia is crack, you can never give it up!

We need a central repository of pics for use in posts. That way we don't miss opportunities for their use. Also, I only have one, and haven't ever had a chance to use it. sad.gif

I have a friend who was addicted to PSO (eww we're aussies so not even online pso) then got addicted to WoW. he now refuses to play anyother game and should anything ingame be organised he refuses to do anything else (movies, party, sleep)

And all my friends generally agree that lusternia is way better. but will never play because theres no graphics (i wanna hurt them for that)

the way i see it right now, muds are developing with amazing feature but lack an audience while mmogs have the audience but not the features.

examples WoW has a few bashing abilities which only get better as you level. so you can't really choose to specialise in one area (other than talents) so you can get better at bashing then get the rest of your skills... imagine having to level every skillset here rather than picking and choosing the skills you want.

Discworlds skill tree is quite complex, every ability using from 1 to 5 of these skills which can be leveled to any extent (litterally, there is no cap. 300 is the most you can learn from your guild and then you just have to learn from yourself or another player) which is great when compared to guild wars (which i like more than WoW) where each ability draws on one skill which ranges from 1 to 20 and upon reaching level 20 you max out.

hmm also mmogs don't seem to enjoy the flexibility that we have. people on mmogs don't seem to like the idea of a player-run government (most likely because they'll never be put incharge) amd seem surprised when i say i can just learn from someone who knows more about something than me.

whee waffleon and BLAh blah blah
Sylphas2005-09-15 19:33:53
No, I'd be wary of a player run government in, say, WoW, because most of the people are complete and utter morons who should be hit in the face with a shovel.

true, but without any form of one you have about a hundred guilds that are the protectors/defenders/keepers/mages/knights of teldrasil/stormwind/ironforge/ogrimmar/undercity/thunder bluffs

even worse. ewie no class togetherness...ness

Dungeon Siege 2 I have only played in single player mode, and its quite an entertaining game for the first couple of acts. It plays a lot like the first one, but for some reason reminded me more of Diablo II.
